It feels like the Lotus has very little aero drag, when these post-ground effect cars were very ‘draggy’ indeed in 1984-7, before advances in aero began to take hold, as we moved into the 1990s.

I guess what’ll eventually happen, is that the 98T will be brought back into closer performance parity with the Williams variant model, much in the same way that the 1983 Brabham, Corvette Group C and the Porsche 962C cars have been with this update.

 

There should be a proper option "maximum headlights rendered" so that it won't be all 31 other cars with headlights turned on, absolutely unnecessary to render all of that ! I just want to limit it to the closest 6 cars ahead and 3 cars behind me.

 

It's not that simple. Doing this would potentially turn AI cars headlights on and off constantly as they jockey for positions behind you. It could create a very distracting light show in your mirrors.

 

Then we can just turn the AI or opponent’s lights off

Of course it is simple, i have been using this setting in Assetto Corsa for ages and it always worked without issues. EDIT: And frankly what is even your argument here ?? To just keep all 31 headlights enabled is better ? Absolutely not when the performance tanks even on high-end systems.

 

I think he means on the hands of the AI at least. It's very unbalanced, which in my experience is true, no matter the track type Senna is 1.5 to 2 seconds faster than the other cars with similar skill values on the custom AI file.

Yeah, it's actually a relatively quick fix adjusting the custom AI files, so in my case not a big deal. Havent done any race in that class without custom AI to see if the Lotus AI is too quick as well.

 

Oh don't get me wrong, i absolutely agree with you, i just wanted to point out that the Lotus wasnt even the fastest car at Monza in real life, and giving it more drag will for sure help address the inbalance you speak off, the Lotus was very draggy, even more than many of his already very draggy rivals.

Yay or Nay? When I drive in F-Classic Gen1, I am ridiculously faster than any other cars on the grid?

For my part, the player/AI gap within F-Classic Gen1 is the amongst the largest in the sim.

Aww, why block me when you're getting there, now you just have to put two and two together and recognize that one sentence can actually do more than one thing at the same time. Not an easy concept to grasp, especially when you are occupied with carrying a pitchfork, but doable.
