Key sentence is: "outgoing lead Dmitry Kozko continues as a director to help find fresh investment."

Yep, that's the scam, ladies and gents. Find new money because the old money was spent on many things but game development...

And the M8 GTE might return to Le Mans this year.

100% agree with you. the modern line up of cars in ams2 is quite bad imo. and other sims like ACC, AC and RF2 are leaps and bounds ahead of them in that respect.

The historic stuff is unmatched for sure and is what makes it stand out. but if they want to draw in some fresh users the modern stuff needs a lot of attention imo

Morgan Aero GT3 or get out! Jokes (not joking really) aside for this endurance focused year I would like a mix of the current regulations with some older stuff like DBR9 GT1. The only GT3 I would care to see is not racing anymore that is the Bentley Continental GT3, other than that the only one I would care is not out yet, the Mustang GT3.

Assetto Corsa has had modded versions of the 1967 Nordschleife since 2020. They are pretty good.

I think the road Brabham is really good though.

You can't really say ACC is 'leaps and bounds' ahead in terms of modern cars, when it only has 2 modern car types and AMS2 has maybe 30? Probably closer to 40 if you count mods (which you need to if you're counting mods for AC and RF2).

While you could always argue a preference for more or a different selection, I'd disagree that it's a great weakness.

It's not, the entry list is already confirmed.

It does, and it's very good but it is ultimately a massively upgraded version converted from the GPL/rFactor version. Even its age in AC shows when you say it has wet and dry versions, which isn't something that's needed to be separate for several years. Sergio Lori's scratch built Südschleife for AC has a lot more detail to it.

Mocking the lack of details at this point is pointless as this is a pretty early version of this track.

Well, considering it got delayed a long long time, i would hardly call it an early version.

Surely this time the track is properly finished when they release it, and we wont get update/hotfixes to add trackside objects like a day or 2 after initial release, they might as well just delayed it a bit longer to release a finished track.

While not on PC, Gran Turismo 4 (2004) is the first game I know of that had a laser-scanned Nordschleife. Their marketing department claimed "1cm accuracy", which of course is marketing bull**** due to mesh simplification when modeling the point cloud into polygons.

…which gives me a brilliant opportunity to share this comparison of 1983 Nords with GT4:

I wonder how much difference there is between 1971 and 1983?

I really don't think this version of the track is finished at all, it looks quite empty tbh. And my bet is that the initial release will still be a bit like that. It's a huge track and I doubt they'll have it entirely finished within the next months. Bit by bit will be added later. It always has been like this with new circuits.

The main part is the road mesh, once it is finished the track is good for racing already, details can be added later ...

...next track will be Targa? :p
