Yes, but instead of taking the time to implement an option to turn sparks off they could simply fix them instead .
I think that fixing such a „rendered on the wrong eye“ bug is not that difficult and Reiza already did this in the past. I remember that a new track came out and the video walls (trackside objects) were rendered on the wrong eye in VR. It was reported and in an upcoming patch it was fixed.
It would be interesting if Reiza could give us some insights about how they test the VR things (which headsets? Did Renato try VR and does he like it? …). I can’t believe that they could achieve the best VR racing experience on the market without using VR headsets , but yes, on the other hand some immersion breaking VR glitches could let us think so…

Increasing shadow map res will definitely have an impact on performance, but AMS 2 is a game that runs great, it's not like it's at the bottom limit or something, performance wise. Yes, fps will drop a bit, but it won't make or break the game.

As for blurring the shadow map, that post process effect is actually pretty cheap, GPU-wise. You probably wont even notice any fps drop on that. If you are an experienced dev, that previously worked on the rendering pipeline, it shouldn't even take you a few hours.

But the drivers did. Taking a car that is inherently so much slower to a race.

 

First if that was a problem the race organizers wouldn't allow the car, or the production car class as a whole

Second Race Control put the Porsche driver as the total responsible for the accident and fined him, saying that the Dacia drivers deserved this is utter BS, as the amateurish mistake from the Porsche driver was 100% avoidable

Third the car have been running since 2007 and this is the first time he got involved in a collision, which was not their fault as pointed in the second point

and last, it is not sensible to say "The drivers deserved it" not only based on the points above but also by the fact that the driver did get hospitalized due to the severity of the accident

 

I've actually gotten ACC to look better in VR than AMS2. Downloaded a VR settings file and it looks really nice and smooth. Then again I'm using Quest so the resolution isn't as great as the Quest 2 and other HMD's..

 

Now tell this to all the regulars that start in the Clio Cup, Golf GTI or Group N in the NLS. The Touring cars have been there from the start, its the SP9 class (GT3) thats evolving from touring cars to prototypes. Thats not the fault of the touring cars teams.

Yes because there are some parts that got destroyed which are no longer fabricated and can't be obtained easily like the cup engine that the car was using...
