all someone needs to do is look at each sim and take the best from each and make the ultimate sim. Rennsport I thought may be the answer but they’re more concerned about inviting celebrities only for the Esports deal, that’s not sim racing

My oppinion is that if iRacing did fire the guy responsible for their lousy tire model and created or did buy a TM on the level of rF2 or as it is in the best cars in AMS2 - then it would be the dead for most of the sim racing competition.
Because of iRacings complete 24/7 service.
But problem is that the man responsible is named Dave Kaemmer - and is one of the owners.

Dave K didn’t fire himself (won’t) as he’s so far down the rabbit hole he can’t climb back out. He’s been working on the tire model for 15+ years and it’s made the physics guys most like go crazy. The ir18 is their best car, for feel with the tire. All others you get the lazy spin because their slip angle is about 50%

There's a lot I like about iRacing but, I see it as something of a "Trap"; if you want access to the content, you have to continually pay the ransom fees. :p

The more money you have invested, the more pressure to maintain your account and not lose access. It certainly works well for the company and those that can really utilize it to the full extent. It is designed to be profitable, keep people involved and dedicated to iRacing. Smart and successful, as the results speak for themselves. But, the business model is not meant to be all inclusive. It caters mostly to those with higher disposable incomes.

We have way too many subscription fees already and many of them simply don't justify the cost considering how little we actually utilize some services. Not everyone is in the same boat, though. It just doesn't work for my situation. Fortunately, there are multiple great options offering superb "simulation value" and great variety in content. :)

it’s all relative to one’s perspective, disposable money. I came aboard there with the last beta so the content didn’t cost me anything. I’ve bought stuff through the years but not a lot of content, car here or there & track. I get the 40% discount , probably 10-12 cars I don’t own and probably the same for tracks. As far as lose your content, you can exit for years and come back and still have your content, you don’t lose that. If I had to start over today and what I know, I wouldn’t, I’m bored with the content and being a league racer the official stuff isn’t for me. We were promised the moon in 2008 and we’re currently about 1000 feet off the ground lol. For me $100 a year divide by 12 isn’t expensive, most people spend that at Starbucks in 4-5 months lol

Is it just me or should we just start hyping up the RC release and stop talking about IRacing?

Economists call this "sunk costs." And it is a real thing that governs behavior. And I am certain that it motivates some of the iRacing fanboy defenders.

I used iRacing when I took the Driver 61 class. It was great for that. The VR implementation was fine for me. But I personally enjoy AMS2 and AC a lot more. But you certainly can't beat iRacing's league races.

I suppose they could start micro transactions for faster repairs, lower safety rating penalties or lower chance of mechanical failure for example
