Is this compared with the AI in the race or qualy?

In a race I think the AI are OK pace wise because I also need to lift off in those corners to save the left front. But in qualy they should take them at full speed.

 

Loving the new physics. However, I have come across a new issue. I'm a VR driver (Quest 2) and I have had a couple of instances on race scenarios where my headset goes black whilst the game is still running on my monitor. After a minute or so the image returns to the headset. It appears to happen on certain parts of tracks only (don't think this is a coincidence). I didn't have this issue on previous version.

 

Having been forced to return to the stable release in order to compete online...

These new physics do indeed tell me more through the feedback and what they tell me is reliable to my ageing brain...

The information accurately engages me into making correct correction...

Whilst on the stable release similar situations are met with a confused state of "why did I spin"...

The differences are subtle but are more noticeable at slow speeds...

I can't wait until the tintops and especially anything slow gets these new tyres...

I reinstalled the game and deleted the documents folder, but no luck getting rid of the bouncing so far...

 

Agreed. Ai pace in race and quali is very poor. Tried with the usa23 f1 22 and Inters.

 

Not really, the F-Retros are just as floppy at the rear as they have been since 1.4.

 

I'll give them another go later and check it out!

Higher pressure and lifting off during those long right handers. You saw in the race on Sunday that lap times were 6+ seconds slower a lap than in qualy.

 

Just to be clear: those slower laptimes are MAINLY down to fuel loads and tyre wear.

I'm clarifying, because your post makes it sound like drivers are lifting in corners to the tune of several seconds per lap.

 

That is what they do though? They lift and coast and attack corners much less in the race to manage to tyre wear.

When Perez was chasing down Russel at the end he was told he could "stop lifting and coasting in turn 3".

When Perez pitted with about 10laps to go he did a 16.6 on new softs. That is 4 seconds off pole time with not much fuel onboard.

Gordon Murray didn't believe in rear anti roll bars being usefull for anything back then on road courses. So none of his Brabham designs had them afaik.

 

Just had a quick go out on my lunch break. They feel slightly better to me but nowhere near the jump felt in some of the other cars, you're right.

 

Any reports on stuttering in barcelona with race mode? Bad/lower fps and image stutter. In practice mode the image feels fluid.

 

I'm curious to see the updated physics in cars that strongly dont like tail braking, like the Sauber C9.
