Thanks. What about overtake mode as button in f1 formula hybrid cars?

I think i misspeak. I set it to have more rotation, i may just have write the wrong thing. It doesn't matter anyway. The administrator have provided advice to deal with the sensitivity so it seems the twichyness is intentionally done

Have you tried doing a longish race (30+ laps) with high boost to see if the car lasts the whole race? I haven't gotten to play much with the turbo cars (stuck in the vintages and retros). But if the game simulates well enough the damage a high boost causes to the engine, then that's an okayish compromise for the time being, that way you are forced to use lower boost levels to be able to finish the race.

My wheel went kaput today so I cant do that test myself, but that did give me the chance to parlay with the missus to finally get a DD Wheel, so yay for that!

Yes, high boost decreases engine life massively. At some combinations it will be difficult to even complete one hotlap.

Is there a reason you get less P2P at Laguna Seca than at the other tracks?

I assume the rule is in the game because it mirrors real life, but does anyone know why the rule is in place in the real series?

Are you saying you press the button and it will deploy push to pass for 20 seconds and you cannot turn it off until it is done, or you can toggle it on and off and there is a 20 second maximum use per lap? Also I know I already mentioned this but if you are switching to toggle as default, there should be an option to use press and hold to be more realistic.

Just to clarify in case of 10 x 20 seconds per P2P:

20 seconds is the maximum time per activation as in Indycar?

So if each time you have it for 20 seconds, you get 10 activations, but if each time you have it for 10 seconds you get 20 activations?

Currently we can only have one or the other (push once or hold) as that is all the system allows for.. You push it once and you get 20 seconds boost.. You push it again and you get another 20 seconds boost.. You will have 10 activations for a total of 200 seconds and it is free to be deployed multiple times per lap..

Having read up on it I see IndyCar used to have the system like that in 2013 at least and in 2017 changed to a system that can be turned off.

Currently this can not be achieved on on the single push activation button method. It's not a on/off toggle, it's only on..

Yes, I remember doing a Kyalami race with a Spirit Honda, I let the boost on 90% to see how far it would go, I was able to keep close to the Brabham’s for 3 or 4 laps , then my engine exploded (which was really cool). I started a new 20 lap race with boost to around 60% and made it to the finish, but a long way from the Brabham’s. But it was nice to see the impact of boost vs reliability. Always a compromise to be made with these cars, but that’s immersion for me.

Is there an indicator to this number in the wheel dash? or anywhere that says this info in the HUD besides the tiny icon on the bottom right?

Even if IndyCar uses a toggle, I think having it as a hold instead of only 20-sec intervals fits closer to how it's used IRL. As long as it still has the 20-sec maximum and the 1st lap ban, I'm okay with the current implementation.

The current issue with the hold button method is you can hold it for longer than 20 seconds. Each method has it's limitations.. I'm trying to find a solution although that might not be feasible right now..

Pressing the break would disable that correct? A constant 20 seconds of boost sounds dangerous to me.

Currently braking does not stop the boost for other series that work like this (stock car brasil). If you still have boost left you get it out of the exit of the next corner too.

If you can make it work like the DRS system in the F-Ultimate or MetalMoro AJR maybe it would work, it closes the wing when you brake or press the button.

We now have a working solution..

As of next build the new P2P rules for Formula USA 2023 are:

    Track Type: Road & Street
    Session Type: Race
    Activation Type: Hold button
    P2P Allocation: Total 200 seconds @ Maximum 20 seconds per P2P
P2P Allocation Laguna Seca: Total 150 seconds @ Maximum 15 seconds per P2P
P2P Restrictions: P2P disabled on first lap of race
Notes: Multiple P2P activations permitted on a single lap, bursting/preserving <15/20 seconds permitted
