If I already have AMS2 and All DLC installed do I need to uninstall and completely reinstall with the new “paddock” product key?

I don’t see this mentioned in instructions provided in link. Thanks!

It seems to be another completely different installation that runs independently from the main game.
In other words, you can have two separate installations.

No, the AMS2 beta is a separate install. So you will have two AMS2 installs on your machine. The normal game and the beta.

No. Main release and beta are effectively two completely separate games. We can have either one or both installed. With both installed we simply boot up whichever one we want to play at any given time.

Correct....This game in it's current and by the looks of it, future form is nothing I'm interested in paying more money for. I'm more interested in buying a finished product then to be continuely asked to pay more money for a product that doesn't really have any direction but to keep adding bits and pieces over time. If it was a proper finished sim, I would be very interested. But I don't see that ever happening....at least not anytime soon.....especially now that they'll be busy with Straight 4 game merger.

You're right, this is not happening. Which is exactly the point of the Paddock Club. If you don't like that approach, I'm afraid you'll have to wait another three or four years...

Yep you are correct. No other sims on the market add content for additional charges... The only ones that don't are the games that have been abandoned by the developers or churn out a yearly game but it is your money I am just not sure I see the point of you creating an account and your first and only post is to say you are not going to join.

Not sure how paying for beta access to a finished game would work, sounds like more of a rip-off to me!

Thanks to you and others who responded. I was confused on how future DLCs would reach my main game install if I didn't have two instances installed (since AMS2 "Main" is already installed).

I now understand, I add the two product keys (for AMS2 + All DLC + Beta & AMS1 Ultimate Addition) to my Steam Library, choose to install them or not, and new DLCs (I have ALL current) will apply to my currently installed AMS2. I have no questions on AMS1.

If you have the beta installed, is there any need to have the main release installed? I'm assuming that the beta may come with some element of risk that new features may not work perfectly at first but other than that, is it reasonable to expect it to be the only version I need? I'd quite like to now uninstall the main release version in order to save the substantial amount of disk space it takes up.

There are not always latest version in "AMS2 Beta".
the version of AMS2 public is latest sometimes.
That because minor fixes don't needed to be tested on AMS2 Beta branch in my opinion.
especially in quick feedback relase season like right after huge updates..
I think that is how reiza operates steam branches(public, public-releaseCandidate and beta) with flexibility.

I have the Main release (Public) version installed for several reasons:
    1. D-box motion requires a specific EXE file be present in order to use the system (Beta version not supported).
    2. The Main version can be used for AMS2 Mod content and avoid possible interference in the game development process. And with less frequent updates requiring uninstall / reinstall of mods.
    3. It may be useful to compare development progress between Main / Beta versions.

Would the minor fixes not still need to be implemented on the beta to ensure that any future beta version exactly reflects the functionality of the future main release, just in case any minor fix has an unexpected knock-on effect elsewhere?

That beta branch might be for not employed beta users.
Minor fix can be tested their internal private dev branch by developers or employed testers. this is usual in dev sequences in SW development.

Anyway i think you can find some hints of your original question in Paddock.
please find ".....All you need to know" thread in paddock which created by renato.

I've mounted a whole sim rig specifically for AMS2, talk about it to all of my friends, also involved in the modding scene, I'm really frustrated about being out of it. Most of it is because being a Brazilian consumer like me that had no friction in going on this journey with you guys. Way before then knowing about the details, I was already in the boat for AMS2, it's a Brazilian project, and I was already spreading love about the game...
