The 3D trees surely look amazing in Bathurst, it would be great to see them in other tracks too.

But 3D people; I hope never again. They are a disaster in "Jerez historic", it ruined the track for me...

See my bug report about "what's wrong with them":

    Version: v1.4.7.2
Track & Layout Used: Jerez Historic 1988
    Car Used: All
Applicable Settings: I only have VR(tested two headsets, Reverb G2 and Pimax Crystal) so I don't know if it also happens without VR but I think it does/probably does
Report: ALL 3D people models that stand on the side of the road at rougly 100-200? meters and above are not there.

Level of detail should be further away, it should be ~500 meters but that's not even the biggest issue:

The biggest issue is when you get closer then that then there is a HALF BODY(head is cut off the body) person standing there. When you drive even closer (VERY close) at around a ~75 meters, THEN the head comes on the body and the 3d people model gets complete.

This completely ruins the immersion in this track for me. I hope that it can be fixed because it's an amazing looking and driving track. Thank you for your attention.

Steps to reproduce: Drive on Jerez Historic 1988 and you will see the strange half body 3d persons with cut off heads on the side of the road...

Might be... But that's a photograph, not an ingame screen shot.

If on close inspection the crowds look a bit apathetic, I just pretend they are totally blown away by my obviously amazing driving. I can live with that.

With endurance racing planned for the future, is there any chance of a multiplayer driver swap coming.
This feature request for the Madness Engine has existed since pcars1, but was never fulfilled.
A driver swap could also be a kind of workaround/fallback for disconnect issues.
If one player loses the connection, another could take over. The exact procedure would still have to be considered, but as an idea: At the moment a player loses the connection, the AI take over the control and drives to the pits and then waits for another player to take over the control again. Maybe the same player as before.

The Matra 1972. The year I was born (not relevant I realise), and forming part of the only triple crown ever achieved by one Mr Hill Senior. Classic!

It's interesting how strangely modern the front canards on those prototypes look compared to today. For how advanced airplane/jet aerodynamics was by that era, racing aero was still in it's infancy.

Yep. Racing aero had by that time mainly focused on low drag. The concept of downforce was just being understood. Low drag bodies were creating lift at high speeds so thats why the canards were there. The Hunaudieres was public road and therefore had a crown and 917 was resisting going straight there at near 400 kmh.

The rear flaps on the 917 LH originated on the 908 LH and pushed the rear wheels down. It was originally contrived as loophole active aero.

There is also no use for a pre- and post WW1 tracks if there are no cars with WW1 bomber engines to drive them on.

I'm guessing you're quite a fan of it, judging by the 4 straight posts? :p
