I would hope that the Le Mans DLC would be part of a France Grand Prix, including also Paul Ricard and Dijon Prenois.

What about Force Feedback for the F5 Key? It rumbles when Renato is actively working on the Dev Update?

And Reims, Magny-Cours, Charade, Pau, Lédenon... Some seriously good tracks are in France.
France is widely known for its wine, which goes well with... cheese!

Sorry for being off-topic, but I'd like to hear your opinion about the authenticity of the circuits in AMS2. A "famous" french YouTuber claims that the laser technique used in AMS for reproducing the tracks is "low tech & cheap" compared to the ones used in iRacing or rFactor 2. Is it true? If so, to what extent are the circuits in AMS2 authentic compared to other simulations?

I think you'll find the french youtubers method for creating content is "low tech & cheap". Btw, it seems this thread is all off-topic so therefore your comment should be considered on-topic as it is off-topic. :D

This doesn't make any sense, laser scan does not put out the track like it is generated by the hardware.
The technique serves more like a map to the artists build things on top of it.
    * I did not watch the video your talking about, the comment above is my two cents about the technology.

There is no "the" laser techique in AMS2. All the Premium tracks and a few other tracks (e.g. all the MSV/Palmer-owned tracks in the U.K.) are modeled based on "point cloud data". This data can be sourced in many ways, but usually it's purchased from the track owner and was made with whatever they were using. The most common type of point cloud data is a LiDAR scan due to its cost/performance ratio, but it could be laser as well, although I suspect that most tracks casually described as "laser scans" are from LiDAR and not laser.

Nevertheless, you can have the most accurate point cloud data in the world and still end up with inaccurate track topology, since it all depends on the manual work you do when converting the point cloud data to traditional polygons in the track 3D model.

Research (online) project: "Laser-scanning Race Tracks" and why "Iracing is da'Bomb!"

That should keep you occupied for quite some time! :D

For a very long time iRacing only offered Long Beach as a socalled Tech Track.
Which means that every thing else than the tarmac and a few other things was the raw laser scan.

I'm excited if Renato will get it pushed over the line today.
Maybe he will get some extra energy if we root for him...:p:D;):)

Paul Ricard will be an amazing add for AMS2! Can you imagine what Reiza can do with a 1988 version?

Paul Ricard Circuit would certainly be a good fit for the game's content and time period, given you could just about run anything on it from the past 50 years.

Ideally, we'd get 3 versions: the 1970s long version, the post-1985 short version and the modern psychedelic version.
