I think I understand what you’ve explained and I sort of agree with you. Certain cars (F-ultimate gen1 is the best example) were very pointy with V1.4 and now aren’t pointy. I don’t fully know why that is and IIRC that’s what you’re disagreeing with. IMO the tyre model makes the car a lot better and if you want that pointy feeling, then you can adjust setups so you can have the same coordination.

The grip of the tires after this update is very real, I compare it to Iracing in the rain, it's very real.

 

Crazy to know how the 1.6 version of the simulator will be, congratulations to Reiza because what SMS didn't do in PC2, Reiza did

 

Storm's condition has changed a lot from 1.4 to 1.5 it's much better the spray has increased absurdly the weather is much more closed and much darker, it's much better.

 

I wonder how much money it would require to get the rights from the people involved to actually get their likeness into the game. Colin Chapman should be on the wall at historic Spielberg, or Frank Williams at Silverstone. Have Chapman give you the thumbs up at the finish line from behind the wall if you are the leading car and about to win.

 

Whether it is 7 cars or even just 1 car being terrible of course it matters, because EVERY car has to be driveable and not broken. So far it is only the Formula Reiza that i found just odd. Not even sure how to describe the driving yet, maybe with the "wet tires on a dry track" way.

 

I was hoping to see the short pants and shirtless pit crew if you choose a summer date in the historic versions of Kyalami or Interlagos with the Formula Retros . Maybe some Marshalls smoking cigarettes as well

 

Which FFB profile are you running?

Looks like there is an error with default. Default + feels much better and allows much more control.

 

It was better imo, i don't like it to be honest.

 

rFuktor 5.0.1.3. My wheel is the T300RS GT and with this custom file it's perfect. But so far that F1 car is an oddity.

 

So the custom I use makes the issue even worse. Try default+ and see how it feels.

Im not very pedantic and eventhough in an ideal world all cars in a sim SHOULD be spot on - then I dont care.
In iRacing which is much more expensive there is a lot of the cars that feels terrible (IMO).
But when I was a member I mainly drove the cars I liked - and that was that.
Dont wanna use my life on something that doesnt matter - for me.

ByTheWay: Even if I have paid full price for a racing game then if I find that no cars after as example an update does drive as I consider "realistic" and fun - then I slowly begin to look elsewhere.

What aspect of the physics are you trying to highlight by posting these times?

Do you think the new physics are less realistic because of this or is it something else?

Backing you up on the Formula Reiza. The update is excellent but this is one of the few weird cars now that felt ok before the update.

I drove Barcelona yesterday for one hour before going into the race. To sum up the driving, there is a lot of corner entry understeer, and then a lot of corner oversteer because of the excessive corner entry understeer. The only "fix" is to make the car as soft as possible on the springs and the ARB, open up the diff by going to clutch 2, put engine braking to 0. This is quite extreme, borderline absurd. Imho something is very wrong somewhere, and it also needs to have damper transition speeds reworked.

Regarding the AI, I tried it at 100 as usual. I got p1 in quali by a 9 tenths and then got absolutely destroyed on the first 2 laps of the race, getting overtaken by the AI until I fell down to p10. From there, there was a huge increasing gap to p11 yet I could not keep up with p9. I found myself alone in my spot when every other car was in a pack, it was weird. Not the biggest issue I guess, the car behaving oddly is more annoying.
