Use a single reference point, like the start finish line as the temps will fluctuate during the lap.

Its important to keep in mind to not camber for cambering sake. Cambering is a minor tool to use to change cornering traction if you need it.
Cambering helps cornering grip but it hurts braking zones and exit traction.

Typically all you really need is 3 cambering packages. One for low speed, twisty turny tracks. One for high speed tracks with heavy braking/passing zones. And one balanced package for most other tracks.

Did you confirm that there are absolutely no Windows power savings settings set to 10 minutes?

That wouldn't explain the fact that if he pauses the game, the countdown is extended the same amount of time.

The first race I ever ran with spotter on it was an American, but ever since then it's been British. Do they change up?

It could as the act of pausing requires an input trigger recognized by Windows. But let's let the person with the problem confirm their settings.

Yes, there are different spotters for different classes.

Confirmed. Even if there were, it still wouldn't explain why the 10 minutes only happens at race start/restart. Or why it would be delayed by pausing the game.

Good suggestions. I turned off tire wear/ fuel consumption, zeroed out weather slots. Even tried different dates, and time trial. The darn thing still freezes right at 10 min.

At this point if you haven’t yet, I would try a complete uninstall and reinstall

I sure hope so, and would be great to also have a Crew Chief not just a spotter. At least someone who would be nicer than Jeff since he usually swears once a race is over.

You can deactivate Jeff's swear mode in the options. ;)

    You probably deserved it :)

However, regardless of whether you deserve it, you can turn the 'Sweary messages' off in crew chief.

The Formula Vee cars are much better to drive since version 1.5. :)
In previous versions, the steering felt extremely snappy even at very low speeds. This unpleasant behaviour isn't that extreme anymore since tyre update.
On the other hand, the AI in this class became quicker. At 100% strength, they are faster than the record holders in TT on the tracks I tried so far, but maybe the Aliens (and I am not one of them) haven't set their times yet.

How much of a difference is there between "heavy rubber" and "green" regarding grip?

I just drove 11 laps with the GT3 Merc (default setup, fuel for 12 laps) at Monza with track surface "heavy rubber" and did my best lap (01:47.643) in my eighth lap. I then loaded the same combination with track surface set to "green" and did a 01:47.4xx in my third lap. I also perceived no difference regarding braking points and turn-in points - I could drive the car like before. Visually, the track was lighter and there was no rubber with being set to "green".

Maybe try the comparison with TC=0 and see if you can notice the difference?
