But with the banked Monza track, which wasn't in use anymore in the 66 season.

Simulators could be used as a learning tool (not only that, but that is what you are talking about). As any tool, including the ones used with more orthodox teaching methodologies, they will be as good as the teacher's skills in using them.

You can use even an old commercial sim from the 80s to teach something, but you should have a method and a teaching plan. You have even people using conventional table RPGs in education. The point is not to believe that your learning tool will encompass everything in the due subject and the used approach must consider it's limitations. As for example, you can teach basics with cornering trajectory even with games as the original F-Zero IF you understand how (specifically) different from reality it's physics are and how to apply the theory over what is left. Dmn... you can do it even with GURPS if you know how to translate. And modern sims, such as AMS2, have way more resources to work with.

You only have to remember that simply playing a simulator as it is will not give you any real knowledge about racing or even driving. Most sims (both on and off line) will even teach you everything wrong if you just dive in. You need to have the real knowledge, understand how different it will work in RL and with the sim/game, and translate it to the learning process. Can be done by teaching or even self-learning if you do it right.

My first owned car (1997) was a Chevrolet Corsa (that is even more destitute than the one made by Opel), when parked, it's steering wheel could be used for bodybuilding and it was not that much lighter when in movement lol And I learned to drive in a VW Gol (the "Bolinha Mil" one) that wasn't better.

Had some experience over some more racing oriented cars with and without power steering, but, unfortunately, haven't any contact with a F-Vee, but know that it's supposed to behave somehow even more unwelcoming as the one in AMS2 as it's designed to teach. It's common that lower tier cars have a worst behavior than the top categories, as extensive related an documented.

PS: I just finished my first offline championship at AMS2 (a 20 stages with two 25min races with the Polo) and my next one possibly will be with the F-Vee (an eight one hour single race stages)... just in doubt if do that with this car or the underrated street Camaro SS.

IMHO, not even close to. Even the Gran Turismo movie (that, let's say, have the same amount of "poetic liberty" as any game in this franchise) is better.

    Will leave you two recomendations:

Also known as "Italian Race" outside civilized territory.

Not a movie, but can't recommend less

Grand Prix is not a bad movie and I really appreciate the real racing footage used there... but in a storytelling perspective, it just lacks. It's my less favorite good racing movie. It's better than the Fast & Furious persiflage, but could be way better and overall it was a waste of good racing footage.

Would be great if Reiza add more 1997 F1 cars in AMS2 like Jordan Peugeot, Arrows Yamaha or Stewart Ford , just like they did with the other classic cars from 70s and 80s (brabham, lotus).

    What I really miss is:
    - A turbo ground effect car
    - A 1995 V10 and V8
    - A 1996-1997 V8
    - A 2006-2008 F1 generic car
    - Nascar
    - Some BTCC style cars
    After that, i’m done

We dont (yet) have the ability to get out the virtual car and fight, but it should be there to make ams2 realistic
