That's actually not where the names come from.

Gridiron Football (the one on the right) comes from the fact that historically, the ball was 12 inches long from tip to tip. It was a "foot" ball because it was a foot long.

Association football (the one on the left) comes from the fact that it was played "on foot." The comparison was to polo, which is played on horseback.

Back to the op, has anyone heard anything yet? Maybe one of the beta testers can say if the beta build has moved any since end of last week?
    Not nagging just interested

Beta is on 1.5.2.6 currently, but version numbers tend to be unreliable. 10 days ago we were on 1.5.1.6 and there were only two updates in between.

Let's say we're in a "rounding up" phase. I'll also say that I don't expect the release to be without hiccups, especially all the AI recalibration left to do seems not possible within a short timeframe.

Physics should see a nice step, especially in the wet. Release is coming together, and given the recent update speed I'd say it's another week of waiting, give or take (most likely give) a couple days.

Thanks for that guys. Gotta say I'm not expecting anything till mid November. Working in and around contracts all my life the standard for most is a extra couple of weeks after finish date lol. Just thankful reiza are not liable for liquidated assets

Hello everyone, personally the only thing that gave me a bad feeling was that they eliminated Time Trial. I completely understand the reasons, but I think that for someone who buys the game in recent months, seeing that part abandoned, and not being able to record lap times on various tracks and cars, can give the appearance that it is abandoned or incomplete. I understand that they could make a statement within the simulator menu itself so that new people don't think that it is like this forever. At least in my case, since I did not have a ranked multiplayer, the issue of random lap times was what attracted me the most. I clarify that it is a 100% constructive comment with no intention of bothering anyone who does not share it.

iRacing just published their dev update.
Honestly sounds pretty juicy on the physics/weather/graphics compartment.
I'm very curious to see Reiza's "response" with the new update's dev-update, honestly can't wait.
And I am also very curious to check rain driving on the new update, especially with caterham superlight, which now is a bit "impossible" to drive (at least for me).

Note 1: I completely missed out that they are also working on a (long-term-project) career mode.
Note 2: to whom is convinced that iRacing has the best physics and tire model whatsoever, Greg Hill himself officially said that gt3 tire model is being heavily worked-on knowing that it was not optimal, and they are also working on a new "advanced" version of the tire model for gt3s....

good times ahead for us sim-racers
