    TM-TX here:
Each @Danielkart version is a step forward, v70 felling is indeed very good but v400 is better.
I'm on beta 1.5.3.1 and v400 feels superb but things could always be better I know.

I am kinda having an hard time getting the right feeling after coming back to simracing after a year off.

Before I had a T300 and with AMS2 I achieved a great FFB, I recently bought a Moza R9 and I am struggling to achieve a good sense of grip, tried default+ and V300 from Danielkart and the one from Joaquim Pereira. I would say I struggle to achive 2 things I could with my T300:

    • accurately increases wheel force as downforce increases with speed
    • feel better the cliff of grip
I struggle to feel the wheel get lighter on lower grip. Any advice?

Setting in game, GAIN around 50 (tried also lower) LFB 0, FX 10, DAMPING (0 with custom, 30-40 with default ones). It's like the strenght of the wheel is compressed between high/load downforce situation, mostly playing F1 retro/classic/V12.

    Hello!
I can't tell you whether there will be a change in the files after the update. The V400 files are very mature customs with a very good balance. As already mentioned, the physics update 1.5 from Reiza brought very big changes to my customs. There were enormous possibilities for me and that's why after this update 1.5 there were many custom versions of me. Then came the V300 and finally the V400 which changed everything again. The result was no dampening neither in the game nor in the base, no LFB in the game, no friction in the base and no inertia in the base. And this V400 now allows me to simulate almost any force (base) without much effort and with very few changes. That's why there will also be V500 files that will have an even narrower range. This narrower range means the customs will automatically work better with the forces for the different bases. It remains to be seen whether other changes will be necessary after the Reiza update. Maybe yes, maybe no. Then it could look something like this:

    1. File V500 1-3Nm
    2. File V500 4-5Nm
    3. File V500 6-7Nm
    4. File V500 8-9Nm
    5. File V500 10-11Nm
    6. File V500 12-13Nm
    7. File V500 14-15Nm
    8. File V500 16-18Nm
    9. File V500 Rally 1-20Nm

    Hello!
I can tell you with certainty that you now have a better FFB in Ams2 than you did a year ago. You switched from the T300 belt base to a dd. This also takes some time to get used to. I don't know the setting options for a Moza base, so you have to deal with it and find out what works best for you.
If you take my file, 50% gain in the game is not enough because you will lose FFB. FX 10 is also very little. Find your personal sweet spot with lots of testing, whether with defaults or a custom file

Thrutmaster has a great FFB and (I believe) driver's low pass filter give a very rubber feeling, like tyre should have.

That said, take what @Danielkart already told about time to adapt. It's very important. Switching FFB files, switching to a new game, etc., cannot be asserted without understanding what is been comunicated to you.
Forget about TM's FFB, will get better! ;)

Thanks @Danielkart and @Joaquim Pereira such an helpful community here! :)

I will try higher gain as suggested, yes I kinda will forget about the T300, as it is also a distant memory as I sold it after breaking my leg about a year ago, would have been nice to still have it just to compare the two.

What are your suggestion about DAMPING setting in game?

yes, this is a very accurate description of the feeling I used to get with T300

No damping in the game on my V400 this does the file for you. The file contains the recommended in-game settings. But with defaults you need damping to reduce the oscillations and the oscillation of the wheel, but unfortunately it cannot be eliminated completely

However, I have to correct my statement a little with the damping at defaults. Maybe things are different now with the current beta. But since I don't have a beta, the damping on my current Ams2 without beta is different than it should be. The more damping in the game, the more oscillations and vibrations there will be

My file doesn't use damping (set to 0).

I agree with your observations and will try to implement a relax curve in front tyres fit curve.
Right now, after adjusting my v5 to fit GT cars to 'perfection', I'm having trouble dealing with high G forces of high end formulas (F1, Indy).
    Well, more tests I guess...

I'm using GT DD Pro 8Nm. I guess file 3 (6-7Nm) is the "best" file for this wheelbase?

    Hello Rivanov!
This depends very much on the personal taste of the user. There are people who like to have greater strength and then there are people who would like to feel less strength. In your example with 8Nm Base I would test both files 6-7Nm and 8-9Nm . The 6-7Nm file will have more forces and be stronger. The 8-9Nm file will have less force and be weaker. So you can choose it according to your taste

By far the best Custom FFB file right now. Using an 8nm CSL DD.

My biggest issue with the FFB in AMS2 is the lack of sensation of actual tire grip, at medium to lower to speeds like corner exit, I dont get a sense that the tires are touching the ground, it makes cars feel like they're skating across the ground. This FFB file has been the closest in terms of getting rid of that sensation (or lack thereof). It's not perfect, but definitely the best thus far. The feeling of load and the road texture is really great as well. Awesome work!

Can you provide your Fanalab settings for you CSL DD 8Nm that you use with this Custom FFB profile?

Well I finally upgraded to a DD base - a Moza r12. It's a bittersweet upgrade because I absolutely love my Csw 2.5 such a great base but I just felt the time is right, need more power and it's an early birthday/xmas present to myself.
Not sure if I can put this here but if anyone wants a mint condition Csw 2.5 in the uk pm me.

Which must mean I am the last of a dying breed. Long live the CSW 2.5, the best belt base ever made.

I know, it's a classic. And some files here @Karsten Hvidberg @Danielkart etc have really made it shine. I just need more force in places like Eau Rouge etc.
I could have stayed with Fanatec but the bases are so heavy for my rig, this one is tiny.
And it will see me out if it keeps working

It's a classic without a doubt, I get all the information I need from it, even feel the marbles off the racing line in corners it's insane. I'm just missing that extra "oomph".

In my opinion, this base is one of the best or even the best belt base that has ever existed. I had the opportunity to test this with a friend years ago. People will continue to enjoy it

I'll probably pass on before my CSW 2.5 does. A solid workhorse. As long as I don't try a DD, I'll never know what I'm missing. The tech has moved so fast over the last 3 years. Not being in a rush to upgrade has served my wallet well so far.
