Group C cars grip under acceleration

    I've spent a bit if time in the Group-C cars (not in RL:() and they are much better, imo.
    With the amount of power they make, it makes sense that they can spin the tires at slower speeds (for lack of downforce). They do corner extremely well at speed, though (until they come unglued), as expected. :)

    Tested all of them on dry conditions at spa 1993, so far really good feel. Like really good, favourites being the Porsche and the Nissan, the only one I really have a problem with is the Corvette, on my wheel with the default ffb it feels extremely woobly, like dangerous going into eau rouge and radillon. The nissan on the other hand feels really complacent while the porsche feels a little bit more nervous but enough to handle.

    The Sauber Merc would be the car I’m interested in. I’m a little gun shy about dedicating my time to be disappointed, again.

    The high-speed instability of the Corvette is a known issue, and I believe it's marked for another look by the dev's. It was worse before but, it's still wanders a little at top speed.

    This thread is about a year old and looks like 1.6 should be here by Dec 1st. Ya, I know they said it’s ready but there could be something here or there that holds it up. Let’s days next week and I’m crossing my fingers the Group C cars are as good as they were pre 1.4.

    I updated to 1.6 and tested the Sauber for 4-5 hrs. Car feels good, I think it’s stuck to the track a little much, especially with the turbo Testing at RA you’ve got about 5 second gear corners and wot isn’t a problem Changed 2nd gear to see if it would become a little more lively but pretty much the same. Ran the 962 and the notes did say they worked on the tires. Car felt a lot better now since their work. Didn’t really have a lot of time working on the setup so there’s some work to get faster. About 7 tenths off from the Sauber, I think beforep or I was probably 1.5 off. I can probably cut it down to 4 tenths with some setup work. Nissan tested a few laps and needs a lot of work and it was a pushing plowing sow. I run in a league with the group c Max mod in RF2. This feels better overall but I think the turbo is lacking in the ams2 cars. And I’m making this statement based on what it was before 1.5. Sauber v8 is just beautiful, great job with that

    Overall i think 1.6 is a good step forward but it still needs some work.

    I tried the Sauber C9 at Le Mans and i think there might be something wrong with the differential.
    I set up my 1st gear longer than default so i use it for the slowest corner and only change to 2nd immediately after corner exit.
    For example in the Mulsanne corner which has a pretty smooth surface, no matter what angle i use for the power ramp angle, from minimum to maximum i can't get the rear to step out when pressing the throttle aggressively in 1st gear. If i instantly go from low throttle to full, then the car spins but it feels like an on-off effect and there's no feeling of gradually losing lateral grip depending on throttle management.
    But if the corner is bumpy, then it's easy to spin even in 2nd gear.
