Assuming you bought it online in the UK you can just send it back for a refund for any reason (including no reason) for 14 days. (If they didn't tell you this then you can send it back any time in the next 12 months - or 14 days from whenever they do tell you whichever is the sooner)

If you fix it yourself and something else breaks then you're on your own. If it were a decade old fair enough but not for something that you've just bought.

I'm really enjoying the V500, thank you @Danielkart, I was using a much older file from you (V80), the best thing about that which I very much miss in the V500 is the feel of running over the kerbs. In V80 the steering would wobble and I'd get feedback, but I seem to miss that in V500 or for me I'd like to feel them more.

I'm using a CSL DD 8nm with the exact recommended settings in-game and Fanatec software.

Looking through the feedback files I saw in V80 under 'Road features settings':

    texture_scale 0.6)
    (micro_bumps_scale 0.300)
    (micro_bumps_smooth 0.008)
    (kerbs_surface_scale 10.0)
    (kerbs_surface_smooth 0.03)
    (kerb_bump_scale 0.25)
    (large_track_bump_scale 1.6)
    (large_offroad_bump_scale 2.1)

    And in V500:

    (texture_scale 0.5)
    (micro_bumps_scale 0.375)
    (micro_bumps_smooth 0.008)
    (kerbs_surface_scale 8.5)
    (kerbs_surface_smooth 0.03)
    (kerb_bump_scale 0.25)
    (large_track_bump_scale 1.4)
    (large_offroad_bump_scale 3.3)

I'm not at my wheel now and wont be for a few days, so I thought I'd ask so when I'm home I can try, if I change the V500 to the V80 for the Road features settings would I feel the kerbs more or is it way more complicated than that (I presume it is)?

Again thanks for the V500 file.

    Good morning!
These are customs and everything is allowed to find your personal sweet spot. These changes to the road features will not cause any problems with the rest of the file. You can swap it out or adjust any value of it to your taste. These are simple changes to suit personal taste. So don't worry, you won't have any other disadvantages:)

This didn't fix my issue unfortunately. Is it a setup issue within the thrustmaster software or something?

    Hello Divit!
Yes, I suspect a problem with the Thrustmaster software. Or try to recalibrate everything or check or change the hardware connections. There's something wrong with your base here. Or even a reinstall of the game? The files will become lighter as the file number increases - this is a physical given. I'm sorry that I can't help you

    Hey Daniel,
the fact that the FFB goes lighter as the file number increases helped a lot for me to find the file that suits my taste the best. I'm a long time fan of your work but previously I've always downloaded the file which is recommended for my Thrustmaster T300. I've always ended up lowering gain in AMS2 to 50% or even lower. This time I chose a file one step above the recommended one and the FFB is crazy good now! Thank you for your work, AMS2 is truly a different sim with your custom files (for the better)!

No, it's very different for me.
I always test with Default and Default+ first after every Reiza update. This way I can feel what has changed and then select the cars.
Then I can react to my customs with the selected cars. But never mod vehicles, only original Reiza cars. And always without TC and without ABS because that way I get more feedback:)

They're sending me a new pcb, hopefully soon as I'm missing all the
    new goodness.

Yes, the recommended file can be good. But it can also be a file above or a file below. It always depends on how the base processes it and outputs the dynamic range. And finally, personal taste;)

@Danielkart Only had a brief time with V500 last night, but so far feels good as always. Just a quick question - not sure if its a quick answer - but are saying its better to use a different file rather than adjusting gain in game? I've gone with 62% as recommended in your files, and have my base output at 11Nm, but if I'm finding FFB too strong is there much difference between moving to the next file up (12-13Nm) as opposed to knocking the gain back to 60% ?

    Hello!
I always leave the gain in the game at 62%. Because the customs are tailored to this value in order to get as much FFB as possible. Also no change to the vehicle-specific ffb because this also changes the gain in the game and therefore changes the FFB. I just change the force at the base depending on the car and the route. Of course, this can vary greatly and be different depending on the wheel. But your question is good because there are 2 ways to change it. 1. With gain at the base for stronger or weaker (the pure power at the base) 2. With a different file to operate the different bases (dynamic range and changing the FFB) I hope it helps you a little. Just test whether a different file or reducing or increasing the gain on the base is better for you

@Danielkart for me the steering when I turn right or left is too hard. What is the parameter to modify in the file? Thank you

Go up a file or two or reduce gain on your base to suit your taste

but then all the other forces are reduced. I find everything perfect except the weight of the steering wheel when cornering

Reduce these 2 values 2.4 from these lines:

    (angle_d_l (* angle_d_l 2.40))
    (angle_d_r (* angle_d_r 2.40))

This was the key to the castle. I can finally use your custom files. Really transforms the game.

The key to these customs dates back years and has only gotten better through countless hours of testing. I've said it before and I'll say it again now. The diamond was given by Karsten Hvidberg and the support of Reiza's team. I cut the diamond in the rough to make it shine with the support and feedback of some great people. With this in mind, I thank everyone;)

Unfortunately I can't say anything about your base, but perhaps there are other users with Cammus bases

    I have one Cammus C5 and I use V4 or V5 from @Joaquim Pereira

    Cammus config

    Power on 100%
Natural Friction on 20% or 0% (depends of your taste)
    Effects Intensity 100%
CF Filter 30% or 40% (depends of your taste)
Q Factor 0% or 10%, 20% (depends of your taste)
    Everything else at 0%

    In game FFB
    G 50
    L 0
    F 23
    D 0

I have this config shared on Cammus config, look in Automobista 2 - C5_AMS2_Generic_v5 VultUx
