Looks like they are downsizing to similar to WTCC and BTCC. I guess they will be down to piddly little inline 4s as well?

Are the body works supposed to be modelled after local road cars? If so, what are they?

They look so similar its hard to tell them apart without the logos in the front. Originally I thought a Yaris, but nope, not unless it was squashed from the roof. They look cool though.

Corolla Cross and Chevrolet Tracker, as they are known here in Brazil. They are SUVs.

I have a feeling if they're gonna add Ferraris you're most likely gonna see a 296 in the GT3 class for modern endurance, so I wouldn't get too excited. I'd love to be proven wrong though (I know you guys at Reiza are reading this too ;))

If an agreement with Ferrari can be reached, the 488 GTE is a must

Thanks. I had heard about the SUV thing a while back, but then saw these and thought they looked more like estate/wagons. Probably just nicer proportioned SUVs than some of the giant bricks we have in North America ;)

[EDIT: Looked them up, and no, the road cars in Brazil are the same dumpy models as here. The SC designers should be hired by Toyota and GM to show how to properly style and proportion a utility vehicle!!]

Sometimes the obvious answer is staring us in the face. If there is a Gen1, there will be a Gen2. Many of those who complain that Renato is a poor communicator of development updates (none here, of course) obviously suffer from myopia….

Looks like the new Brazilian Stock Cars will be 4-cylinder turbos, much lighter and nimble, and about 6 secs faster per lap *insert exploding head emoji here*

If true, I really hope we'll get these cars in AMS2. They could be a lot of fun!

Yep, they look nothing like the road SUVs.

Also, cars (built and) sold in Brazil are always worse in quality than their counterparts in first world countries.

The definition of a SUV is quite wide open now a days it seems. These look just like 4 hatchback cars....not at all a utility vehicle in any way. They are small little cars.

But they look very fun to race, hope they come to the game.

Those videos are 4 months old but in Portuguese, please activate yor local caption language.

And for me it looks like a brand new car, motor and chassis wrapped and ready to be rent to the teams, nothing to do with something you see on the streets except for a bubble over it.
And yes, I don't know nothing more than it was showed about the engine, including its brand or if it is a new project or not.

The current models (and for many years) are the same. Real race cars with a simple "wrapping" that resembles a road car for sponsorship purposes. ...Which is also the same for NASCAR in the USA.

Maybe so but if you did the same to the V8 supercar series here in Australia you would be burned at the stake. Leave them as they are and have a different series if you want to downsize.

I read that SAT College Board is testing the following analogy:

    DTM is to GT3
as Stock Car Pro Series is to TCR
