So in practice what you are asking is that Reiza should never give any estimate of release date ever, and instead just announce "live now, go!"....? As Renato indicated, everything was on track for release today, until an issue arose in literally the last day or two. The very fact that unexpected issues can and do arise, even in the 1% between 99 and 100 makes your request illogical, unless you want them to not mention any dates at all until they are literally ready to hit the publish button.

In any case, Reiza never actually committed to any date - the closest we were given was 'we plan to release in the coming week' - and that week still has a day and a half to go if we count Sunday as its end.

Further, Renato's apology post states that we "may still have a public RC over the weekend". If that turns out to be the case then they will in fact have met the release date that they never actually stated in the first place!

If "IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL" then why are you making such a post when not even a semi-commitment has actually been missed yet?

At earliest, some time tomorrow, "within a couple days" according to Renato, at latest maybe next week if it still needs a little more time in the oven

Yeah the RSS one is good, but I don't really like AC nor its AI.

Also despite universal praise I think it's really barebones and without mods lacks a lot of things

If you want to have it your way. That basically means he can only give a date when it is already finished and ready to send which means customers don't know which ballpark the release will be and such. And customers and other people just want to know because they crave for information.
They are going above and beyond as usual and we should be thankful for that.
I don't know what more they can do to be more transparent. People ask for information and they give it. Which is all they can do.

If the update is not ready, it's not ready. Nobody wants to watch excitable YouTubers play AMS2 and suffer CTDs, AI snarl-ups, graphical glitches and sundry bugs that would damage Reiza's reputation and frustrate everyone. The team is nearly there but, quite understandably, it needs a break before settling on a version of AMS2 that is good enough to release. C'est la vie.

yea I agree with all of that. youtubers like gamer muscle will slather AC in praise, and for sure it's a good game, but the feel of it is just not right to me. So many things just irk me slightly.

And I find it annoying having to screw around with content manager so much. People seem to think of it as a plus, but I love that AMS2(and yes, iRacing) look and drive great with no fussing and constantly ****in' with PP filters and the like. And iRacing has huge issues itself, namely that one car costs as much as a DLC pack, or like, AC's entire price.

AMS2 is just so great for single-player racing at this point, it's literally the best pick-up-and-play sim on the market

I'd go as far as saying it's pretty worthless without mods, there's a reason why Content Manager and CSP are necessities, few tracks, many cars but too all over the place, terrible FFB, terrible AI, tons of basic features missing, imo mediocre graphics, etc...

Mirko Pricoco is not entirely wrong! :(

REIZA's announcement was certainly well-intentioned, but ultimately they didn't do themselves any favours.
The employees now have to pay for this ...

It was a plan, not a commitment to release the update today.

And given the amount of CTDs reported in beta it was the right decision to postpone. Remember, it's not just new content that's being worked on which would be a safer bet to estimate.
