Nice to know! Maybe we should open a thread with setups exclusive for this cars (if it's not already existing)? Anybody else interested in that?
I think the best start for setup work on the LMDH is to increase the rear chamber angle.

This is what Reiza has been using internally as a benchmark:
Run some Qualifying sessions against Stock Car 2023 at Barcelona GP (no chicane), using different AI strength settings. A good AI setting would be one that lets you qualify within 1 second of first place.

My idea is to create one when I do have setups more developed. Still a few days away from it, and unfortunately, work has just made it longer.

I'm looking forward to it! Since I mostly race on the weekends, I would add my setup ideas etc. to your thread than.

I wonder if it would be possible to get a sub-forum just for setups (for each car). I know it is possible to use the setups from the time trials, but it would be nice to have different approaches.

An option introduced by reiza that basically removes the AI cars from the track and only simulates them in the background to prevent being slowed down by AI traffic in qualy.
Just for clarification, this works in the same way with humans too, every player has his own track basically during qualy.

I turned it on "for" the AI. I thought it would make them faster since they didn't have to go around slower cars and slower classes.

I mean we can go around them in the quickest way possible and we know to take some space before staring a quali lap, but the AI just laps no matter what

It seems like AMS2 still hasn't got enough grip from the tires. Which means there still is too much sliding. I think this is still of the great things they have to work on for this year. That and it still is too floaty.
I hope these are rectified this year and I think if that is the case that AMS2 could gain lots and lots of players

    Thanks for the replies.

Strangely enough... without touching the race settings, I did another race and did not have this problem.

I think it might be because I was using old pit strategies... there is some sort of glitch with them.

I really wish we could have pit strategies saved on a per-car basis... or at least more than just 10!

The lack of grip depends on the car you’re using

I love how AI finally think about strategy a bit.
If the race starts wet, and there is no prospect of rain (so the track will dry up in two laps), then they start on slicks.

But if there is a mandatory pitstop, then they will start on wets, and use the mandatory pitstop to change onto slick in the first few laps.

Amazing, afaik there is no other sims that does this thing (raceroom AI is good when it comes to pit planning and different compound usage, but the game has static weather), as it is usually - track condition over cetrain wetness value => AI starts on wets (even if that means they will pit at the end of the first lap).
What still needs imho tweaking is how much longitudinal grip the AI gets in damp conditions (not full wet). They are able to apply power much more effectively than I'm, with the gap closing as the track gets wetter.

Can you make a video what car, track, and conditions you are driving ? Also make sure to have the UI enabled showing the tire temps and condition.

The update is great as usual just as the whole game I love it.

I have one concert though: Even if I set the random faliures to 4x and I run a full race in Suzuka with 27 laps, 2x tire wear, 2x fuel consumption and 2x time scale I only gor 4 reitrement out of 26 drivers with the f1 1990 skin.

Have you also noticed the lack of the retirement?

Dunno; maybe it’s kind of like a lap dance for simracers?

Which raise the question which kind of lap dance? Best lap dance? Or the last lap dance...?

    ...

Okay, okay, I'll see myself out...

Yeah the track limits are far FAR too forgiving at Le Mans. The LMDh cars are also barely upset by the curbs at the last chicane. Aside from that they are very enjoyable to drive! :)

This is the pole lap from last year, look how the Ferrari doesn't care about even anticut kerbing.

I have been looking at it further and I have found a video that helped me a lot. It was this one. Maybe it will help other people too.
