I've tested other sims recently but if I remember correctly AMS2 lacks some head rotation.
When we brake there's a translation head movement forward but perhaps it needs some (more) pitch.
One think I like about rF2 (although it requires high levels of competence finding and editing txt files ;)) is to have head roll proportional to steering wheel angle. Gives me a great effect (of course, this would be a slider from 0 to something for those not interested). I opened a request for this as it does not require a great development.

Yes, our biology has an impact on the images we see that cannot be measured with acceleration sensors. In AMS2, we see the car in front jumping around in sync with our car (particulary severe when following a car 10-15mm away on a turn with lots of bumps), and that's not what I experience in real life. Our eyes/brain are capable of ingnoring all that an keep that car ahead (or where we are looking at, like apex) very stable. We get the bumps from our body alone.
I also asked for this, but this requires some experimentation and patience.

Try aggression at med. I found the AI response is a lot better at med. Helped youtuber Billy Strange with his AI settings, but he uses the custom AI files on Racedepartment app as well. The app works real well when you get the hang of it.

I can get to the Le Mans kart tracks, but I can't get on them -- the kart just falls through the ground. Has anyone had more luck, maybe found a place where it's safe to drive onto the tracks?

In this video, Jake states that when you put aggression on medium it reads directly from the AI files, thus replicating the correct behaviour for each driver. But if you put it on high or max, every driver becomes Hamilton-vs-Verstappen-2021.
He also says some pretty interesting things about the tyre consumption indicator in the HUD.

I can't really confirm if what he's saying is true though.

    Oh no, not again... :D

That is the 1999 Mercedes CLR, the car we have in AMS2 is the 1998 CLK LM :p

    A few questions..

    A) wth did they change from the 98?
    B) imagine the physics complaints if a sim did that
    C) how about Reiza name it like a 1 in 1000 chance when you get to that part of the course? :p

    A) For 1998 the class was GT1, for which you needed a homologation road car that had to be for sale less than 1.000.000$ (I think $? not sure about the currency), so they build exactly 1 road car because the cost of building it up far exceeded that value. And as these cars were basically prototypes with a road homologation anyway, getting more and more extreme with the pinnacle being the Toyota GT-One which barely had anything to do with a road car, they removed that requirement for 1999 and called the class GTP, so there is no road-going Mercedes CLR. That 1999 car has much longer front and rear overhangs (which are a big part of why the car was much more susceptible to flipping than the CLK LM), is another 10cm lower than the CLK LM, has a bit different engine and of course many upgrades coming from the fact it doesn't need to be road homologated.

    B) There is a reason you dont see the CLR anywhere in games, Mercedes just don't allow it.
But funny enough, the Porsche GT1 98 did flip once too, very likely the CLK LM had the potential to do so as well.

EDIT: Oh and C) That part of the track was flattened shortly after these incidents, so we will have to wait for the historic Le Mans layouts for that :p

I know what you mean, I had a good multi-class race at Cordoba, was chasing the other 992 Porsche in the lead, and when we came upon the GT5 cars I threw in there for fun I was thinking to myself: “Hah! You will choke on those!” but we ended up weaving and sandwiching several poor GT5s in some of the slow corners and I was amazed to see the AI still come out ahead after 3 of those. Granted, AI will sometimes get stuck but it worked beautifully that time.

We ran several corners side by side without incident while all that was going on, trading places for a lap or two because I ran slightly wide several times when diving on the inside and instantly was passed again.

It’s by no means perfect, but the AI can provide some pretty amazing racing at times.

Anybody thinks our cars gets dirty too quickly compared to the AI? After finishing a 2 hours race my car looks like it raced for 24h compared to the AI, that gets reasonable dirt for the time raced. Its a small nitpick of mine but anyway.

They mentioned it in that video but the CLR flipped 3 times that weekend. Absolutely mind-boggling stuff. After the Webber incident they added dive planes to generate more downforce on the front but apparently the whole aero platform was too unstable.

Yes, it was the Webber car that flipped the first 2 times, so they thought it was just a problem with that car.
They also gave the direction to the drivers to not follow other cars too closely, which Dumbreck ignored on that occasion.

Is there a location or a page where all commands can be found? Or are all pcars2 commands also still valid?

Can someone explain some details about how ERS works for the LMDh cars ?

Googling it, I see it is for providing additional power but several aspects look like a black box to me.

From what I understand when you accelerate, the gauge depletes as it delivers energy (flashing ligtning symbol in the gauge). When you brake, it fills up. On shorter tracks, it seems to not be possible to deplete it fully.

Can one confirm this has nothing to do with the Boost button and that this additional energy is always delivered automatically ?

There are several modes that you can toggle. What do they do and when to use one over the other ?

I'm assuming the AI makes use of it ?

How ERS is used strategically in races ?
