Dude, you literally have the session setup in the first screenshot (that about sums up how comprehensively you're actually reading other posts). Session time was 20minutes. So 10 minutes of rain, which I consider pretty reasonable, and yet, the wettest screenshot is the 'scaled to race duration'. Even wetter than 5x weather acceleration.

 

Does anyone have an answer?

But you already know what will happen when playing with the sync to race settings. If you pick 2 slots in 1 hour or 4 slots in 10 minutes or 1 slot in 90 minutes or any other combo, the amount of compression (which translates to acceleration) will change dramatically because 1 slot in 1 hour is the base line calculation element in the game.

I agree that 10 minutes of rain is not an unreasonable concept to ask for in any session, but the game UI simply doesn't allow us to pick whatever we want and then reverse engineer the settings to get it. If you have a short session, you are going to "screw-up" the sync to race algorithm, unless you use more slots. In the prior experiment of four laps and four slots, you don't get any excess amount of moisture if only the second slot is set to rain. I have no idea if the Madness Engine can be moulded to do something like iRacing's interface, but it is very clear that SMS intended the weather options to provide some surprise or mystery to spice-up the game play, not to be an actual weather simulator.

I am done with this topic at this point. As stated multiple times, it is not a mystery that the weather system in the game has its quirks and if you pick acceleration OR the combination of sync to race with a short session time you are quite likely to get unrealistic results. If we want realistic weather, the only path is to stick to realistic settings that do not involve either of the aforementioned options. Even then, we cannot control actual weather events minute-by-minute. It just isn't more complicated than that.

 

Maybe the solution would be a rain dance to calm this thread down?

 

I was just pointing out that your repeated comment that AMS 2 open lobbies are full of casuals is true. But irrelevant unless it is different from every other sim/game with open lobbies out there. What value were you trying to add? Is this not common knowledge? Answering the question instead of deflecting would add some value

Then you chipped in asking me to provide evidence that other sims have less casuals than AMS2, which is something I didn't say. wtf?

I mentioned hope that the USA Part 4 DLC would have tracks like Homestead Miami for example, since that has an oval layout which fits Nascar, IndyCar, but also the road course layout that is also superb.

And also Charlotte Motor Speedway for the same reasons.

 

Well, dear old Reiza only has itself to blame. Our favourite Brazilian company has been shockingly poor at advertising Game Stock Car Extreme, AMS1 & AMS2. Even if it couldn't afford an expensive advertising campaign or "persuade" influencers to publicise its products, it has let its own YouTube and Twitter accounts gather dust. There should be many videos explaining and showcasing LiveTrack in AMS2, but there aren't, and now the general simracing public is under the impression that iRacing's impressive new weather feature is the only one of its kind.

 

The only thing I miss is some love in windshield effects of water at night, because you can't see anything, windshield becomes clear even in a thunderstorm.
