Great news for IMSA. Please make sure to take full advantage of the engine capabilities for the GTPs. As of now all cars seem to have the same ICE power curve. I've been meaning to make a separate post about this for a while. I think AMS2 can do a better job at replicating these hybrid engines.

    Very good news!!!
This should also mean that there will soon be a bigger grid, I don't think IMSA is happy with the existing slots....then you couldn't use a proper grid

I also am sad not to hear any news on the MP side in this dev blog. :(

The lack of MP development is the only reason I don't play this sim more.

One thing that I really like about AMS2 is the historical factor. It's like a summarized version of car history, specially regarding F1. All made by first party developers, which is rare to see on simracing. Wit that being said, I kindly ask: is it possible to keep the current F Ultimate gen 2 as gen 2 2022 and add this new one as gen 2 2024? I really understand all the improvements, of the sim itself as of their real life counter part. But it would be nice to keep both versions just for the sake of the historical documentation of the category.

Other than that, all I have to say is great job(as always) amd thank you Reiza team. I'm really excited about the future.

    Cheers and happy racing.

Great read in many ways. Hysterese models and those details shown by steelcast are getting me really excited again! :) Not to mention the alliance with IMSA and the projected expectations for 1.6.

didn't they announce working on a new DS in the last dev update?
They also announced a big update to the UI, that wasn't really mentioned here.

Congrats on the IMSA partnership! Also on how Reiza is growing, so nice to see. It will be interesting to see the overall direction of the sim now, I assume with said license, come certain responsibilities. Will it be a "simple" car and track license or a full championship simulation with regulations and rules. If so it's quite an undertaking to develop that alongside all the content still planned for the "base" game.

Anyhow, exiting times ahead, ready for the journey!

This is the best news for AMS2 is a long time. IMSA will bring great things to AMS2 for sure and the long hoped for: Sebring and Road Atlanta! And great new cars!

Great that you're hiring too, new C++ coders could hopefully fix the MP bugs. I assume that this is one of the main reasons for this job position?

Nice work Reiza, thank you for all that!

So, IMSA means we get the the new Aston Martin GT3 and the Chevrolet, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Acura, Lexus GT3‘s? I would love to take those to the Nordschleife (the heart of endurance racing )!

And if this means Oreca 07 in AMS2, hell yeah!

The only news about V1.6 developments in this dev update relate to developments that already feature in the upcoming v1.5.6 to some degree, which is primarily what this dev update is about along with the IMSA announcement since v1.5.6 is due within a couple of weeks. I did mention there is so much more to the V1.6 update we are going to need several more articles to cover it all, and we will in the several months that still separate us from its release - bit early to dismay about what it might not include :)

Really excited for Mosport, Sebring, Road Atlanta.

If the Detroit skyline will be modeled for the street circuit, then surely Belle Isle can also be made, because the skyline is already there :):):)

Great to read too that the track/car art is getting updated with shader improvements. The new screenshots look really nice.

But I have one thing to note regarding Ibarra circuit: "spinning 2D trees which remain in use at longer distances". Herebey an screenshot, the spinning 2D trees at long distance on this hills have issues, they are flickering and some of them are "flying above the mountain" (not just these in this screenshots, but a lot on the long distance/mountains, especially the most far distance trees on the left side of where the screenshot is taken).

Will these far distance trees also be fixed? That would be great, then the track would looks really perfect/amazing together with the new shaders+3D trees. Thank you !
