Just reading about this new partnership coming from 12 hours of Sebring race (which was simply incredible btw) and now it’s going to take even longer to come down from my high tonight.

the trees over there are actually remade, well actually whole terrain was remade at Ibarra, comparing to current release version.
The "flying above the mountain" thing you mention is occuring mainly because of mip mapping, which is inevitable, and will differ depending on the AA mode you choose. (the further object from the camera, the less resolution of it's texture will be rendered - both to save on GPU and to avoid grainy look in the distance), so with further mips the narrow trunks tend to render less visible. There are ways to get around it, but all of them aren't that great.
Funny enough you can see the similar "flying trees" on the street view of the Ibarra as well Google Maps

Flickering is less happening on the new version, but still some compromises had to be made.

They don't race at Belle Isle anymore. It's downtown Detroit now.

Thank you for your informative post and explaining the technical details behind it. Really appreciate that, looking forward to the track updates serious improvements are made. I'm sure that the 3D trees will add a lot to the immersion, the last time that I've drove on the track I even thought about them(how nice it would look).

Partnership with IMSA is great news and rewards Reiza's hard work. Well done, you deserve it. Looking forward to driving the Acura GTP in Detroit. (Could we have the Acura DPI to race with the Cadillac DPI? or if this is not possible, can you increase the number of liveries for the Cadillac DPI?)
For the redesign of the Formula Ultimate Gen2, would it be possible to keep the current model? the skin modders have done an incredible job and it would be a shame to see their work disappear. Thanks

Seems a bit strategic to me.

    MSG: LMU has WEC!
    Rieza: Hold my beer!

IMSA licensing is very exciting! Of course I can't wait for the tracks it'll add, AMS2 with Sebring and Rd Atlanta is a sim I am here for - but wonder what it means for the car side of things (More GT3/GT4 models? LMP2? Historic IMSA content???)

If Reiza is doing the 2024 IMSA SportsCar Championship, here are the four IMSA tracks we currently don't have in AMS 2 - Sebring, Detroit Street circuit, Mosport Park and Road Atlanta.
Sebring is legendary and having another street track will be awesome.
What a shame that Mid Ohio isn't on the calandar this year.

The IMSA license is very interesting. The cars we can expect might be released are:
    (LMDh/GTP)
    Acura ARX 06
    Lamborghini SC63
    Oreca 07 (LMP2)
    (GTD/GT3)
    Lexus RC F GT3
    Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2
Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo
    Ferrari 296 GT3
    Ford Mustang GT3
    Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R

Wouldn't Reiza still need to negotiate with the car manufacturers though to use them in game?

It probs helps in the license negotiations for reiza to say “we are trusted by and have an official license from IMSA”. Also whats the point of getting the series rights if it doesnt come with cars/tracks…

The message seems pretty clear to me
Seems like IMSA is facilitating the process too

Good news in terms of IMSA. Sounds like we can expect all the brands, cars, missing tracks ingame.
