Yesterday i had a lot of lag, we was 18 pilot,10 pilots were disconnected! Then no more lag...

same as in your first question above.
The server got 21 seconds no signal from you, so it assumes you have disconnected and removes your entry from the database.

I wonder if anyone can share some 'best practice' settings or hints how to get the most stable dedicated server experience? Information is kinda spreadout in this thread and I feel like missing out on something by searching for stuff.

We host weekly league races with 20-26 drivers from allround europe, server location is germany and session host is usually also from germany. We also use the emperor server manager. So far we had mixed experience, not great but also not bad.

We experimented with different tick values, 1 active and 5 passive, currently 5 active and 10 passive.
We also had some issues with server visibility, sometimes it seems to disapear in the multiplayer list after a host joined and opened the session.

I would be very happy about any feedback!

Edit* Another thing I just remembered, is it possible to have multiple AMS2 servers running on a single windows server?

 

You can start a second instance using diferent name and ports in the setup file.

 

Hi Guys,
i will start a new championship with my friends and In some tests we discovered that we need to filter some cars from a specific category.

Category: P1 GEN1
I only need the cars: AJR Judd, AJR Nissan and Ginetta G58.

How can I enable the server so that only these cars are selected from this class, including by AI.

I don't think that's currently possible.

(Usually the quickest way to find out how to do something on the internet, is to say it can't be done.. lol)

But no, seriously.. I doubt you can do it.. I ran a league recently with Lmdh's and GT3's, and I wanted the AI to only pick the GT3's. The only way I could achieve that was to start the server, join it, and see what cars the AI decided to pick.. First time I got lucky and they picked solely GT3's on the 2nd attempt.. but there was an occasion I had to close and restart the server 7 or 8 times..

Long and the short of it is.. There isn't much option for customization like that.. at least at the moment.

Installed it according to the guide. The server starts API access is available, config files edited and thrown in the root folder, configured tracks. But in the list of servers I do not see it.

It looks like that is a project cars 2 server, considering it is referring to a "Daytona International Speedway Rallycross" track, which isn't in AMS2.

when following the guide, make sure to use this dedicated server steamid: 1338040 and not 413770

 

You and I were discussing this issue yesterday, just from the manual taken for Ubuntu
 app_update 413770 validate

Maybe you need id for AMS2. Alternatively. Trying to understand this issue.

 

yeah, the guide refers to PC2, so you need to use this instead:

app_update 1338040 validate

that is the id for the ams2 dedicated server

 

I took the data from Automobilista 2 - Dedicated Server.
This adds even more confusion in my head)

With this id I get an error about wrong platform
Steam>app_update 1338040 validate
ERROR! Failed to install app '1338040' (Invalid platform)
