Automobilista 2 V1.5.6.1 RELEASED - Now Updated to V1.5.6.3

I just watched (and listened to) the video. Is it not correct?

 

I am a bit skeptical regarding the water spray.
Here's a video with particles level and density set to max (high/ultra). Light rain, wet track.
As you can see the effect is actually of a white smokey wall and several cars do not produce any of this spray at all.
I think the old version provided a better feeling of wetness.
The new one resembles a lot like iRacing, which I do not like, but maybe that's the way....

Disable max number of vehicles visible, and all cars will spray water in these settings.

And I agree: a mix of new water textures with old one will be better, because old water textures are less a solid white wall, and the feeling of a 2D texture running towards your car ("particles" in Madness Engine) will be less noticeable.

 

F1 cars also have anti-Ackermann steering geometry, which should lead to higher wear on the inner front tyres.

 

+1 While the old effects were a bit too toned down the new water effects just look... kinda bad. A mix between the old style and the new would be perfect.

You really don't have to copy iRacing Reiza, be confident in your water spray

 

How you manage tires is one of the most important bits about AMS2. AMS2 lets you drive poorly for a few laps, but if don't have the right setup or you are too aggressive early, you pay later. It's actually one of the aspects I enjoy most about the sim.

 

Perfect. The ideia of a water spray that goes higher and drop faster than the old effects is good, but without propper particles render, with 2D transparent textures, will be better more work.

Now the transition from wet-dry track is horrible. And the 2D textures layers are too visible.

The old effect use good Idea of simulate water with a more grained transparente texture that blend much better.it's the way to go for sure. But for the first try, I like It.

 

The old effect don't have a visible edge in 2D textures touching ground. That's the worse thing by far in new water spray effects.

 

Honestly, it seems like this new effect is a step back, now the spray looks very white and opaque, totally different from the real thing, the old one was closer to reality

barra looks really great now. Kudos to the team.
I know it's not a priority here for a sim , but i wonder if in the future the pitlane will be more "alive" when we cross it during a race.Not like GT7 of course , but with more people in it. Just a thought.

I wonder one more thing , why the yellow flages /leds panels do not activate when the player/us doing a mistake ? This flags only works for AI drivers ?
This is not a critic , just a genuine question about that , because it's seems "not right".

Reiza try to go IRacing first release of water spray, and IRacing goes Madness Engine last releases.

Middle is best: old water spray textures, a bit higher and compact (water drop faster than original effects), not a big white ghost.

 

In the new Gen the spray in f1 car is more than that|

 

Screw the physics, where's the Official Reiza-Certified® Automobilista 2™ Merch such as the:

• Automobilista 2 Official T-Shirt.
• Automobilista 2 Offical Coffee Mug.
• Automobilista 2 Offical Blankets (tyre hysteresis not included).
• Reiza's Renato Official Top.

Any plans on that?

 

I'm gonna have to disagree. I think the effect can be a bit much specially with the F ultimate G2, those cars push alot of water because of ground effects and it can look a bit wonky at times. It's important to realize that now the diffusor is also taken into account for the amount of spray being generated.

I'd say with the Stock car 2024, the effect looks really good

Not to say it's perfect, but to say it's a step back is incorrect IMO.

 

This is actually something I have wanted for a while. I would definitely purchase some merch.

 

Is the binding for diff coast not working on the Formula G2 ultimate? I have it mapped but it does show as being changed on the popup message.

 

In Fomula Trainer and Junior the effects in wet track now is amazing too. Just need more work with massive water sprays.

 

Only power is allowed I think, you can check this in the ICM

 

I'm loving the way the spray is affected by the wind.
