Automobilista 2 V1.5.6.1 RELEASED - Now Updated to V1.5.6.3

Where is this screenshot from, I don´t have this page on steam. Also I wonder what happens if I turn off steam cloud synchronisation. I may try that tomorrow.

 

I am going to test some stuff on my own and if the problem persists I´ll put details of a test lobby here so other people can join too and see if they are affected.

I still think the key is knowing how and when AMS2 saves ranked data during races. Is it locally in game or does it connect to steam to do it? If it is the latter then we need to know the frequency and method and be alert to that to see if it is causes a network or processor or HD spike.

 

Do you have AMS2 on a HDD? That might be the issue

 

Did a quick systems check before work. UDP is off and I also turned off the steam cloud option in steam config, made no other change as one at a time is the rule.

No ranked lobbies open this time of day so I made my own with only AI opponents and no freezes. Need to test properly in longer races with human opponents.

At least it was a good race with nice AI behaviour.

AMS2 has been on SSD drives on both pcs, on the new on sharing the system drive and on the old one on a dedicated drive only for steam games. Again we need to focus on AMS2 ranked as there is no issue with any other game. I also have PC1 so I was thinking of trying to reproduce the issue on that game as I never used it in ranked MP and maybe the system is the same.

 

Apologies if this has already been covered (it's a long thread) but I have a question about Reiza acquiring the rights to the IMSA tracks and cars - which series does it cover? Is it just the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship or is it also the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge and Michelin Pilot Challenge?

We don't know the specifics, there has been no announcements in regard to anything related to IMSA's other series.
But I think there's hope to see cars from other IMSA champions, I'm doubtful about the tracks tho.

 

A more suitable place to look for information is the March 2024 Development Update
In the first post, only WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is mentioned – no mention of VP Racing SportsCar Challenge / Michelin Pilot Challenge:

…but I don't think this quote excludes the possibility of those other championships.

 

They haven’t licensed the cars and tracks, they’ve licensed the races so they can have Petit Le Mans if they add Road Atlanta or the Daytona 24 hours. The IMSA license will help them get the cars, tracks and liveries of the IMSA championship. Nothing is guaranteed

Well, I think we can safely assume that new update brings something new, we just can't say what it is Every update brings something new in the end

There is however a pretty sad news we got from Renato that idk if we're allowed to reveal. But beside that the new dev cycle looks very promising and everyone in beta is excited.

 

You can't just hint at some sad news without saying what it is about !
Hopefully we can get official info on that topic soon enough.
