Are we seriously saying that my dream car from when I was a wee boy may be coming to AMS2? Is that what we're saying here??
PS How did you unpack these files? are you allowed to share this information?

Activate a mod and you will see them in the files

My AMS2 is 198 gigs with all the mods I have. And I'm fine with that. Games are big these days. My rF2 and AC are even bigger. Telling developers they need to consolidate their game is a bit weird.
My Assetto Corsa coming in at 1.88 terabytes. lol
90 gigs really doesn't seem that extreme these days. That's why they make extra hard drives. :)

I still believe we should have some opt in behavior. It could be an advanced setting in the menu where you activate "experimental grids".

That way you are not ruining the experience for the casual player who just wanna hop on and race but you still leave the option open to people who are fine with the game being unstable, also the added benefit of more test scenarios.

Quite common way to gather feedback on beta/upcoming features in software and game development.

I play rainbow 6 siege and it's in year 9 of the game now and the file size has remained 50-60 gb even after all the content (maps, operators, etc.) that has been added because every so often they release a huge 40-50 gb update which is that big due to, as they mention, consolidation.
As I said, I don't know if this happens only on that game and if it's technically even possible on AMS2 but games are NOT routinely 100+ GB in my experience at least. Even huge AAA titles clock in at around 60-90 GB even now and hopefully they don't get much larger.

It's not but it shows up on the game listing pages as such because of the stupid system they've integrated where you download all their games through the one unified platform and as such, it shows the size if all the games and content in the unified launcher were installed. It's actually closer to 120-140 gb but Call of duty isn't really the best example for file size optimisation I'd say.

You have to take up everything. You can’t say AMS2 is big and then leave out games which are the same size since they “aren’t the best example”

GT7 is ~130 GB. Forza is 115 GB.
If you want 4k textures, the file size is going to go up. The Madness Engine has been around for a while and the files in game are already compressed. I'm sure if there was a feasible way to compress even more without compromising performance or having ridiculous load times, they would have done it. I'm sure nobody here wants AMS2's Nords to take as long as it does to load in rF2. :D
I'm not going to complain if they can compress it more. 乁( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡ °)ㄏ

Yeah, but 50-60GB was a normal size for a game - 9 years ago!
As time progresses, games get larger. Fortunately storage also gets cheaper,

His point is not that other games aren't as big or bigger than AMS2, it's that it reads as if you're trying to dismiss concerns about AMS2's size by pointing to CoD and saying it's way bigger. If anything, this adds to his point. CoD has absolutely no reason to be as big as it is, and I also have wondered if racing sims genuinely do need to take up as much space as they do. Not implying they don't, because I personally do not know, but it's a valid question to be asked.

    Uruguayan?

I am Uruguayan. Never thought El Pinar (or Rivera, or any local track) would be possible in a sim as official content, but considering Reiza has a full collection of tracks that Brazilian series run and I have realized today that Stock Car Pro Series are coming... I am dreaming.

Of course, I am happy already since I will be able to see the Pro series this October minutes from home :)
