After updating Windows 10 to the just released Fall Creators Update, NVIDIA Anti-Antialising preset settings in AMS Config do not work anymore and have no effect, leaving the game without AA. Trying to force AA settings for AMS.exe in the NVIDIA Control Panel has no effect as well. I'm using the latest NVIDIA drivers available as of today. A reinstall of the drivers does not fix it. It's probably a Windows 10 or NVIDIA problem but it would be nice if it could be investigated, in case there is a simple fix. In the meantime, if you want AA on NVIDIA, do not update to the Fall Creators Update yet.

Also reported on the NVIDIA forum, in the Fall Creator Update thread (post #45):

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-update-feedback-thread-released-10-17-17-/1/

EDIT: AA works fine if launching the game in windowed mode, including borderless. It does not work for fullscreen mode only.

EDIT2: there is a workaround involving Nvidia Profile Inspector. See post #14 for details.

Hi, we're aware of the reports, at this stage we are looking into it, but most likely it needs updates from Nvidia / Microsoft. We just use the Nvidia APIs, if they got broke, we need updates from them before we can recompile with the latest ones.

Sure, seems to be a global problem since even forcing AA settings in the NVIDIA CP or with NVIDIA Inspector does not work. The only partial AA solution for now is to use DSR at a high resolution with high smoothing.

Same is happening here, but strange thing is that it seems to happen only in gMotor games for me.

I've just updated my laptop and it's working fine here on AMS Beta:

The Advanced Settings are pure as set in the AMS Config, with no extra settings.

Can you try if it still works with the latest NVIDIA drivers: 387.92 ?

Have you guys with issues got Game mode enabled? If so could you try disabling it?

The problem is, in the latest version, there is no switch for it. It only says "This PC supports Game mode" under the option.

Ok, so I re-enabled the Game Bar and checked the options in-game, the Game mode is disabled for AMS by default, but turning it on/off makes no difference, still no AA (even after game restart).

Game mode does indeed not make a difference. Disabling (renaming) Dynhud and SweetFX D3D DLLs in the game folder does not make a difference as well.

Urgh. After more experimenting, AA works fine in windowed mode only, including borderless (that's why it worked for you Alex) ! Just not in fullscreen. Editing first post to mention this.

I can confirm this, AA works in Windowed mode!

No wonder I've not seen issues as I always use Windowed mode due to SimCommander requirements when using the in-game access.

A user on the NVIDIA forum has found a workaround to fix this issue (first post edited to mention this), and have AA working in fullscreen mode. Quoting his message below. I can confirm that using NvidiaProfileInspector to set AA Compatibility bits to 4412C1 (Diablo 3) fixes the problem (0xC1 also works). Hope this can help to understand and if possible fix this issue programmatically with the NVIDIA API for setting the proper flags.

EDIT Oct 31th: each time you install a new NVIDIA driver, it will reset the AA flag in NVIDIA Inspector, so you will have to set the correct value again.

I've had the same problem with CFS3.

I tried new video drives, reinstalling DX9c, and a wide range of other control panel settings changes both in the game and in the NVCP all to no effect. What I finally found to work was using NvidiaProfileInspector to set the AA Compatibility bits. In the past this was not needed, and the value could remain at the default 0x00000000. Now it needs one of several that end with 40, 41, or C1.

    40
    41
    240
    1040
    1241
    F0C1
    100C1
    20041
    401241
    401840
    4412C1

There are subtle effect differences between each one, but generally they fall into the three main groups defined by the last two digits. Right now I've settled on the last one, as it's biased toward darkening the edges its aliasing.

GeForce Driver version 388.00 have just got released, but after a clean install, the issue still persist in full screen mode by default.

I suppose Reiza will have to update the code to set the needed AA compat flags with the API, if possible.

Has anyone been getting the next frame flickering in and out, especially in the UI?

It only happens on full screen mode.

Also on my 850m, FSAA works, Compatibility bits ending in C1 break it, 41 seems to work ok, but I can't set the Compatibility bits myself, they don't save :s

I mean they are not in the nvidia API, and if I set the settings as shown when exported from an inspector profile they do not appear in inspector after running the game.
