    I've seen a few files that have stuff like general grip drop-off, or specific understeer drop-off values set up for easy editing.
    If you haven't tried to edit any FFB files then it's worth opening them up and messing around with them, not just for drop-off but to try and make other things suit your tastes better as well.

    There is a lot of talk around these new Atmos files and so I was intrigued and came to the forum also to get some spoilers on the future 1.6 update.
    The new features that I read in the chengelogs of these files are remarkable and the first tests I carried out are aligned with what is indicated. I feel very comfortable, I notice the variable load on the wheels, the constant presence of the rear and the impression is finally that of moving a rectangle on its center and not a point constantly oscillating between right and left. Control is no longer a struggle to maintain balance but it is logical and predictable and when you slip everything becomes lighter rather than harder, finally, even if trivial, if you spin on track or on the grass the steering moves accordingly. Maybe it's a little too exaggerated on some effects (pronounced curbs and perhaps a few too many jolts) but I'm enthusiastic about the first feedback I've received so I leave an up and encouragement to the creators of this work.

    I've tried most files but keep coming back for more.
    I have been knocking loads of time from my laps around Green Hell just lately.
    Especially the Mini JCW 7.21.260 down to 7.18.970 :)

    Good evening guys, for now I'm doing alternative tests on other files, I haven't tuned more the previous 1.5.9 files very well also because the work on the future beta version of the game is evolving and there's little left for the final step to 1.6.0 and therefore to start having the first indications about the future that are a little more concrete, it would be useless to tune and then further retune and release 10 versions of the same file...
    Having said this, considering the kind requests and needs of the users (thanks for the feedback), I only changed two variables:
    - I lowered the kerb_surface_scale from 7.5 to 5.0 which regulates the kerbs/curbs a little downwards (I inform you that they will still have to go down further to reduce the rumble but I would like to do it either with changes in the code or with other settings, I don't want to touch the smooth so as not to lose informativeness we'll see... )
    - and also I reduced the micro_bump_scale from 0.50 to 0.25 so that the car feels a little less bouncy.
    Given the slight changes, I take advantage of this publication to correct some notes, the recommended values of the cursors especially of the pure BASE file which does not require high Damping as in the other files with Reiza Implementation and then I corrected a few symbols in the code which in any case were irrelevant in the output and in sensations.

    Finally, some silent users of the forum have asked me privately to republish the updated version of the ATMOS Initial_Ndef file which I did not publish in version 1.5.9 because I considered it redundant. They tell me that it may be useful to have that interlude too, so here are all the updated files version 1.5.9.2.X

    Barring any glaring problems, while always listening to all your needs and/or inconsistencies detected, I will modify the file after the release of version 1.6 so as not to clog up the forum with temporary versions not suitable for the final version of the game and so as not to confuse those users who are not practical in the use of customized files.

    I do have a question - As a g29 user would i benefit from your ffb setup when 1.6 drops? Or should i stay with the older setups?

    The answer is "YES, if you like the file now I don't see why NO tomorrow" and this regardless of the fact that you use it now on 1.5.6.3 or on future game version 1.6.
    Tomorrow if you don't like the sensations of the new file, nothing will stop you from copying the same values from old to the new file or alternatively to continuing to use the old one. ;)

    Every file has its strengths but also weaknesses. Even defaults are not perfect and far from reality. Realism is interpreted and perceived differently by everyone. For me personally there is no perfect FFB in any simulation but Ams2 gives me the best feeling at the moment (personal taste) It will always remain a simulation because many things are missing and it varies according to the personal taste of the users. You can only try to choose the best one for yourself and, above all, have fun with it :)

    G27 user here. Using the last two files of the 3 I observe a drop in performance almost like drop in FPS. When switching to old files or Default + the sim is fast again and no slow performance in car. are these files perhaps too detailed for basic G27? Too much data to process? any advise would be appreciated.

    Here on both G29 and Logitech DD Pro no problem, check that there have been no recent changes on your PC (recent updates or other) or in the in-game settings (increase n. of cars, etc.), the code is a little longer than the classic rFactor one and no longer than the Reiza code, among other things the versions of the files that we use to do the tests (which include many more lines of code) have a quadruple size of 280 Kb compared to the 80- 90Kb of those you use... ;)
    But if you think this is possible I invite you to report it on the appropriate forum, it has happened in the past and it could happen again in environments that are not always replicable.

    First I would like to state that your files are the only files that feel natural to me, everything I feel and expect in real life is translated via these files, so thank you for creating them.

    When I move back to default+ etc they feel so unnatural and almost invented or the the opposite to what I expect..

    with that said, I use an older base CSWV2 and would like a little a heavier wheel, do you have any recommended settings for a CSWv2?
    Isn’t fine to turn up the volume, or will the FFB clip etc?
    I would like to feel more resistance when turning, heavier wheel when in a straight line etc and would turning this up from 70 to 80/90/100 etc resolve these issues?
    Thanks for creating these files they truly have transform the game for me.
    Looking forward to 1.6 and ahead.

    @NBrembo thanks for the report anyway … here too (both on DD1 and T300) there is no drop in FPS, only marginal movements but which do not represent any drop in FPS... what do you mean by old files, which version are you referring to??
    I ask you this because if you compare the last 3 versions of ATMOS files only the tuning has changed and the code is practically identical... in any case if you don't solve it and continue to live this, do as @Manolo advises you and report the problem to Reiza... if anyone else warns him, let him know that we will forward the report. :)

    For your base which has around 6-7Nm I would recommend a combination of the custom file and the in-game settings.That would be roughly what is described below:

    In Game: Gain 70-80 / LFB 0 / FX 20-25 or according to personal taste / Damping 0

    In the custom file V4000 change the line described below to the value 0.92

    (master_rack 0.92)

    This should help you to get a better feel for your base:)

    thanks for the replies. Made sure again. Default + and Danielkart v4000 runs game fast. So its a mystery. Still on Win 7. GTX1070. 18 cars at Spielberg. So its not graphics. But happy to stick to previous files.

    I will try these new settings and see how they feel.
    I was previously using the V4000 file, and setting my in game settings to the same as the recommendations for the CSL DD 8nm as they were “close” to my base power.

    It still feels fantastic, I honestly can not play the game without your file it just feels correct in every way.
    I do need a little more powerful base, which is my next purchase as I like to feel the weight when turning etc and my little 7nm wheel is quite easy to move, but for now my CSWv2 with these FFB and now these slightly tuned files should do me a few more months/years, so thanks again.

    Amazing work, and I know you can’t cover all bases on the market, but maybe if you can add a few older legacy wheels to the files recommended settings it will help out the archaic old fashioned belt users (like me) out :)

    Yes, maybe I will still do that after the Reiza update 1.6. As you can see, very little intervention is required in the file along with the in-game settings. A second file for perhaps 5-8 Nm, especially for strong belt bases. In my opinion, that doesn't mean much anymore because the dds are now very affordable and have become a mass product. I hope for you that one day you will also be able to enjoy a dd and until then enjoy your good and strong belt base (by the way, in my opinion the best belt base there was);)

    Thanks again for the development of this file, the reduction of the bumps is very productive and also the reduction of the curbs is good (perhaps a little more to be adjusted downwards),
    On my base it is felt very, very well and I confirm there are no differences in performance between the Default, Default+ and all versions of the ATMOS. All run smoothly. ;)

    I've been going back and forth between the Default and the equivalent ATMOS Old_D_raw for a month, I'm in love with the Default Reiza and its essentiality so it won't be easy for the other files to oust it from the top of the podium, I can therefore only certify that I haven't never witnessed any stuttering or performance drops.
    Regardless, these files (all files) intrigue me because I understood that the advantage lies in the fact of being able to intervene not only on the effects but also (and above all) on the RACK:eek:, which I cannot do on Reiza's Default profile:mad: !!
    I'm experimenting by changing the values in the file to try to get used to modifying them (always keeping an original copy aside to be able to go back), so on a couple of occasions I accidentally set 100 and not 1.00 and almost my arm was flying in the air at start of game but otherwise everything was ok :)

    Having tested your Atmos.x base ndef_imm file I have found that it feels very similar to the default+ file with improved centre and tire feel. However I am finding that your file doesn't translate the large bumps in the track.

    My test car was then 99 stock car on Goiânia the layout with the long straight after the first corner, has you go over the hill on to the straight leading to the last corner there is a bump in the track. The car visibly reacts to the bump, and with the default+ it is clearly felt, with your file there is no feel to this bump.

    How can I decrease the excessively heavy steering when braking. As soon as I touch the brake, the steering will go very heavy. If I don't brake through a corner the weight is fine, but, touch the brake, and it just goes excessively heavy. Thanks.
