For most users who prefer to use a custom FFB file, at least 95% of the work has already been done by the authors, such as yourself. The remaining variability in settings is more subjective and is a trial-and-error affair that remains the responsibility of the individual user.

I don't see a problem with the custom ones, the modders offer their recommendations and change them as the simulation progresses, but with the defaults from Reiza I still see the same recommendations as years ago. It's really a shame that Reiza doesn't communicate anything here. The physics have changed fundamentally and so have the in-game settings or the base settings. Maybe Reiza will give new recommendations soon, which would be helpful for many people

    GAIN 50-55
LFB 00-05 (rarely i go up in the range 05-10)
    FX 20-30
Damping 50 +/- 5 but still w.i.p. sometimes (if the car is not very informative about tires) I'm going down to 25 other (specially if i use high gain above 60 and if the car is informative) i'm going up in the range 50-75,

If you want to test them all, try them one at a time and then keep the one you like best... if you don't want to try them all and you currently use one of the 2 Reiza profiles then if you use the Default choose the second Old_D_raw, if instead you prefer the Default+ then choose the third NDef_imm ;)

However, the base is in common and is identical on all 3 files, i.e. they include a MOD or rather an extension of Karsten's original rFuctor with the insertion of the complete code of all 4 wheels and not just the two front ones.
The first (BASE) does not have the infiltrations of the Reiza code, the second (BASE+Old_D_raw) includes part of the code of the Default Reiza's file in addition to the base by taking the raw data directly from general and car physics, the third (BASE+NDef_imm) includes, compared to the second, part of the Default+ code and adds further car customizations to the ffb code which are prepared by Reiza for each individual car.

I remember that the file is in development state and is currently deliberately a little exaggerated in some effects and a further slight refinement of the settings will arrive by next Sunday to start relaxing the sensations without losing informativeness.

@Stakanov hi bud, haven't played for a while so tried your latest today, feels good but the kerbs almost shook my fillings out! I've dialled them out but the average user may not know what to do. Can I ask why you have them so harsh?

    Hi folks

Pretty new to this game and with my G29 I’ve been using Brian Kiponen’s settings as I do with my other sims. He uses a modified rFuktor 5.0.1.3 with his settings, and I was wondering if anything better has been produced for the Logitech wheels over the past couple of years?

Will definately try this one and let's see if it can catch me.....
But personal preferences seems to be very different!

FYI, Brian provides a version tuned by Peter Stefani. I am fairly certain Peter has updated his version of rFuktor since then. Look a few posts up from this one to find a link to a collection of custom files, including many of Peter’s tunes.

    Thank you :)

    *edit*

He appears to have recently moved to a VRS wheel, but I found his final Logitech file over at Overtake G920 Custom FFB file for AMS2 NOV 30, 2023 update 1534.2451

Just tried this out, been running # NAME: Rack_Force for months and really happy. But heard great things about JP v12.

Overall i'm very impressed. Weight transfer is a lot more pronounced, something that I loved from AC but not as easy to feel in AMS 2.

Trail breaking is a lot easier, you can really feel how much the tyre is loading up and what amount of grip you might have.

I really think you can drive a bit more proactive instead of reactive, its easier to predict what will happen.

Only thing I can comment on is that kerbs does feel a bit odd compared to other ffbs, it kinda grips the wheel quite hard almost like a magnet that sucks you in. I would be happy with just some rattling that indicates you are on a kerb.

But hey man what a great baseline! Great work!!

Hi @Alegunner68, what you feel at this moment is right, for now I need to keep the scales a little oversized during the development phase and therefore you feel some aspects or effects that are a little pronounced for now... for now I need it to better understand where any possible factors may come from anomalies when I introduce the new Reiza code in the rFuctor (in parallel with these files I am making other implementations for future files) ... this helps me to understand better and more easily if I have to intervene in the new code, in the Karsten rack or in the effects ... in in this case you can already greatly reduce the rumble of the curbs by bringing the kerb_surface_scale from 7.5 to 5.0 ... tonight I will already publish an advancement in version 1.5.9.2 with other small changes that reduce not only the curbs but also some bumps.

EDIT: Further information, you will feel the curbs in the ATMOS slightly different from the original rFuctor, there will always be a bit of resonance because on each side (right and left) the effect will be given by the sum of the sequence of the front wheel and the rear wheel to follow ...obviously this must be adjusted to the right level that provides information and not disturbance. ;)

I am a big fan of your file and IMO its the best of the custom files. My question is are you continuing to develop the file or have you taken it as far as you can?

I'm upgrading my home cinema system, so simracing took a hit (hardly touched my rig in the last 2 months).
I'm still not happy with my file (or AMS2, for that matter). Still something missing, still not getting the feel I want.

Exactly my thoughts, AMS2 is almost there on feel but just needs that extra bump, I don't know if it will be possible by a custom file alone.

Goodluck with the home cinema, hopefully will see you return to AMS2 soon, surely the 1.6 update will have you back in the rig.

is there any custom FFB file out there where you can feel that drop off in understeer like the default + setting? all the Custom ffb files i've tested gets heavy when the car starts understeer which is unrealistic

Try Mr. Stakanov's latest ATMOS in the NDef_Imm version (i.e. infiltrated by Reiza's default+ code) for me at the moment it's the only file that I'm passionate about to the point of making me move away from the original Reiza profiles, it's very promising
