    Yeah you most likely have a typo somewhere. Mod cars work just fine with custom AI files. No need to edit rcf or anything. There’s a tool on race department that makes edit custom AI files a lot easier.

    I've been playing around with custom AI files a lot, but I've never actually used that tool before. Maybe it's time to give it a try. I tweaked that one file (like I've done before) to put the mod cars into the same group by changing 'Group A mod' to just 'Group A'. Works fine. I had ALL cars and drivers defined in a custom AI file before, as well. But I've never tried to limit the entries in the custom AI file to just the number of cars I wanna race against and have the game pick those exact ones instead of random ones as suggested. That sounds like an easy solution I'd like to investigate a little more.

    Hey, just in case anyone's curious about how I sorted this out:

    I figured out you can actually limit the number of liveries/cars available in the sim, but it only works for mods. Here's the deal: in the {car_name}.rcf files, there's this XML node that looks like:

    <INPUT NAME="LIVERY" OPTIONS="6" />
    I knocked that number down to "2", then deleted everything but the first two entries from <NAMES INPUT ="LIVERY"> and all the matching <CONDITION LIVERY="XY"> bits. BAM! Only two cars show up in the sim now.

    I love using Group A as my go-to example. I've got all 10 BMWs, all 12 Mercedes, threw in 4 Audis (Röhrl only raced a few times to mess with opponents and help Biela snag the championship), and two Omegas. I copied the drivers from the mod AI file to the regular one, and made two new entries for Strycek and Reuter (Opel Omega). Job done!

    Don't think anybody wants anything rushed, but when people are told "A few days" for the dev update and three weeks pass, people are going to be antsy.

    They should just remember that we’re talking about Renato. Expect deadlines to be missed since things can come up. Anyone who expects them to do something according to a public Renato deadline should think and then not get angry since you shouldn’t expect them to arrive at that time

    Who wants to speculate on timing for the next update? It's a fun Friday hobby!

    There is a thing called the Poisson process in statistics that has the "memorylessness" property - conditioning on how long you've waited since the last event does not affect the timing until the next event. How Poisson do we think it is for the Dev update? Is it more likely on a Friday because it's Friday and we have a weekend? Place your bets! (I hope it is today I want to look at pictures of Oreca 07 LMP2 Cars)
