But I assume there is a team leader/boss who sets the priorities and the priority should always be to perfect the CORE of the game. I'd say being able to race the AI in wet/dry conditions is a CORE element of the game.
Also while I'm in a moaning mood, would it kill them to finish the goddamn replay system after FOUR years?

 

same here. new DLCs are always welcome but, for me, things like the new HUD, replay cameras, adding features for proper endurance racing (mid race saves in SP and driver swaps in MP) are more important.
*disclaimers: i dont own any (paid) DLCs and i do NOT drive GT3 cars in AMS2

 

I own pretty much all the AMS 2 DLC. This is so nearly an amazing racing sim, it just needs those finishing touches, like the ones you mentioned.

Oh and though I might complain about new content, I'd weep with joy if a 1990s version of the Nurburgring GP track was released.

AMS2 has made me appreciate the skill of real drivers and sim racers even more.

Of the 160+ hours I've put into AMS2 since I picked it up in January, 34+ hours have been spent at Spa. It's a track I was familiar with from other series (Forza Motorsport, mainly) and has a great blend of sharp turns, sweeping curves, high-speed straights, and elevation changes. I figured it was a good track to learn the sim on.

The best lap I've been able to muster (on a gamepad) is 2:18:38. I don't have to contend with force feedback like other sim racers, nor is my head and body getting jostled around by real-life G forces. And still this is the best I can do.

How real drivers and experienced sim racers can set "fast" times on any and all tracks on multiple cars is extraordinary to me. Those who can remember all of the intricacies of track surface, car handling, places to feather the brakes or add just a touch of throttle... it's really incredible.

I recently read a comment that in sim racing, "the cars are fake but the racing is real." So true! My hats off to the lot of you here — y'all are amazing, you've been so open and willing to share your knowledge, and you've provided me the best gaming experiences I've had in ages.

I haven't been brave enough to race online yet... but my fingers are crossed I'll feel confident enough in my racecraft by the end of this year to give it a go.

 

Hope it's not an insider timing hint about deploy of update or dev update though....

 

What car is that 2:18:38 in? I haven't done much online racing either... but I'd be up for racing with you if you would like! It could be fun

I’m not going to keep going since we’re going in circles. The only thing you can blame for the replays is the madness engine and not Reiza

IIRC, Reiza has acknowledged that the replay system needs improvement however, I believe they said it would require a deep dive into the game-code. At the time, they did not have the personnel to achieve that. so, not an easy fix.

We did get an official statement.

Renato said we're more than a month away from release and to "not hold our breath" for both the update nor a more precise release schedule. A month has not passed since the post was made.

 

I am talking about the Part 2 Update. That would be cool for the next 2-3 weeks. Let them do their magic!
