Yeah - my suggestion would be that Reiza basically ignore all the stuff on the forums like this... we just like hyping it up and enjoying it. I did some online racing today for the first time properly and some people in the chat were just saying how much they like the game. It seems to make those of us who like it, REALLY like it. And just as I read about say the F1 driver market because I'm interested, I don't think the teams should pay any attention to how impatient I am about knowing who's driving for whom.

isnt Pirelli on adboards in the game?
AMS2 doesnt have to worry about AC Evo, look how long it took them get ACC up to a good level, and that was for a dozen tracks and 30 cars.

I already see myself running circles around cars in my Alpine LMDH around Sebring :)
I have a week off from the 9th of september, so i wouldnt mind ;)

Probably, but I dont know if its the same license? Or maybe it was an oversight from Reiza, I remember the Corvette GTP didnt have tire logos but it was added later, I hope they would do it for P1 too, at least for the Gen 2.

perhaps I am wrong  I just tried to confirm and it is quite hard to tell. However, they do of course track head position correctly and behave like a real-life mirror in terms on FOV and reflection angle unlike fixed mirrors. Same as iRacing enhanced mirrors. GT7 tracks head position but the relative movement missing/wrong.

For me this is entertainment outside of AMS2. I can come here for a few minutes while I'm taking a break from work or chilling. I can "enjoy" AMS2 when I'm out and about, not near my rig in this forum. Of course, I don't take the "when is it ready" too seriously b/c it's ready when it's ready.

I wish that there would be a preset gear setup for each track in LMDh. In Daytona, LMDh cars are barely reaching 7th gear. IRL, it would be high revs if not almost topping out.

I don't understand the mentality behind "Just release the update now!"
It's not like it's already finished and just sitting in the freezer waiting to be reheated
Software development isn't waving a magic wand and everything happening
It's a bit more like throwing dirt at a wall, hoping the right bits stick, and then having to scrape off all the wrong bits, and in doing so, more wrong bits appear and sometimes knock off the right bits. Eventually there are enough right bits stuck to the wall and wrong bits scraped off that you can release it.

    The reality is:
The same people who complain a patch is taking too long to be released, are the same people who then complain when the patch doesn't fix all of their problems when it is released.

Be patient. Even better yet, take all your expert knowledge and put it in a resume to send to Reiza so you can make a tangible contribution to the game :)

Did I say that they need to release 1.6 right here and now? You either misunderstood or didn’t read carefully: I warned that right now there is a window of opportunity for AMS2, while there is a lull in the world of sim racing. And if you delay it too much, you can find yourself in the shadow of more successful projects.

I want AMS to become on par with such giants as IR, AC, ACC, EVO, etc. And for now it’s an ideal chance to lure more players into this summer window. If the main part is ready, then we can release 1.6 but a little cut down, for example without new cars, just a tire, so that LFM can open a beta test. And then add DLC.

Its getting released hopefully in the end of september, its perfectly fine, nothing big is happening until there. Its better than releasing a half baked update that people will complain that nothing is working properly.
Everybody here wants AMS 2 to get more relevant too, and I think its getting there, there is no point in rushing it.

With AMS2 I think we should look at Reiza's approach to things and how it has played out so far.

As far as I am aware, Reiza Studios do not base their plans for updates and DLC releases around other racing simulations (or any other games for that matter). Sometimes, a release of a new piece of content may happen around the time of a related real life event, which means there is the benefit of the hype, but that's usually a bonus and not something that's always deliberately aimed for.

But that's the keyword here: Hype. Hype builds up and dies quickly. What's important is how many new players you can keep in the long run. Most other sims try to build hype but often fail to capture their users long term attention. AMS2, on the other hand has been growing slowly... but steadily.

IMHO there are two main things to consider when we are talking about why AMS2 player numbers grow slowly rather than exploding:

    1) The sim still isn't that widely known. Everyone and their dog has heard of EA's F1 franchise, or Assetto Corsa Competizione. AMS2? Not so much, at least not outside those who are already deep into sim racing.

    2) AMS2 is still, to this day, viewed by many as "just a Project CARS mod with a new coat of paint" and since "Project CARS sucked so much and was terrible simcade (and also everyone hates Ian Bell for some reason!)" the same must be true for AMS2 as well. As someone who has been following Reiza's work since Formula Truck and the original Game Stock Car titles (well before Game Stock Car Extreme) I'll admit that AMS2 has had its fair share of problems, many of which where pointed out by people. But despite the devs working their butts off to figure out what was happening and ultimately fixing said issues and generally improving and polishing the game, some of those early critics never gave AMS2 a second chance. For some reason, the old "AMS2 = drifty and slidey simcade PC2 mod" mantra never died. This, I would argue, still hurts AMS2 in two ways: One, because it robs those who still believe in this without actually giving AMS2 another shot of their chance to potentially fall in love with the sim, and two because all that talk can cause newcomers to the scene to dismiss the game outright just because of some false and/or outdated claims.

Honestly? As much as I wish Reiza Studios all the success in the world, this ain't gonna happen overnight. And certainly not by basing their actions on the actions of the competition. Up until this point Reiza have done things their own way, and if you look back to their humble beginnings, I'd say they have done a damn fine job so far. All those licenses we have in AMS2 right now? Just back in the AMS1 days (which wasn't *that* long ago) many of those seemed - in my humble opinion - like a far-fetched thing to dream about, if not outright impossible to achieve.

That's the thing: There is no "main part" that is ready. Features, bugfixes and improvements don't get added to the game one after another - precisely because that is the most time-efficient way of doing things. There's not much sense in waiting to add tracks and vehicles if the artists are done with them. Meanwhile, the physics lead can improve the physics of existing vehicles, while others take care of audio related things as well as the UI, etc. You get the point. :)

But this also means you can't just remove unfinished components from the package and release everything else as is - because in essence, ALL OF IT is unfinished; until it isn't, that is. If the public had access to what's going on in the Beta I am sure many would be surprised not just at what stuff has been added that hasn't been announced yet, but just as much (if not more) how much that has been announced hasn't made it to the Beta yet (aside from the internal one, perhaps).

tl;dr there is no way to release just the finished parts of the update, because just until release (and even afterwards) all of it requires additional polish, improvements and bugfixes. Even some of the Beta testers do not understand what "work in progress" means, so you can probably guess how much worse it would fare with a public that couldn't care less about any important notes and disclaimers...

Renato said he's pretty confident about their deadlines and I trust him! Apart from that, let the guys cook, I would never tell anyone how to do their work or to speed it up because I have no clue how the work gets done, and even if I did, that would be really disrespectful, so please let's just all be patient and enjoy the amazing game we are already playing ;):hurrayreiza:

So, is it part 2 that's delayed, or did part 1 come early? :D
