Unfortunately I have to agree with the AI problems. On the one hand, they seem to use different physics, but on the other hand, they give the player too much space. I would like to fight door to door with contact. But it seems as if they always repel each other like magnets and then change the polarity and coexist at the same height. Sometimes the whole thing seems scripted like a spin. Nevertheless, this is a complaint at a very high level. If the same AI could drive more variance and wider lanes, and just block the lane every now and then, it can become the best AI in sim racing. And of course this swarming behavior must be thoroughly checked again.

I'd be happy if they fixed the AI so they don't all leave the pits at the same time and trip over each other in qualifying.

The AI is also much slower entering the pit box and exiting too, when compared to a player.

Put me down as another one who scrolls straight to the AI section when the patch notes are released, honestly the most important part of the game to watch for me as it makes a lot more difference to me than most physics tweaks (which I also appreciate, don't get me wrong)

But AI go on building trains during their fast lap in qualifying.

“One of the major new developments in the upcoming milestone update is a complete overhaul of environment lighting properties along with revised vehicle materials and various shader updates”

“This has resulted in considerably upgraded visuals, with more natural & cohesive integration of cars/tracks in the various weather and time settings offered within the game. It covers every track/car, with negligible impact on performance so all users can enjoy the improvements”

Can’t wait to see what this is all about!

Are they really noticeable improvements? Game looks great already so that would be a big achievement

    Great question!

I think AMS2 is way better out of the box than AC ever was. I know Kunos no longer develops it, but it is still under development in an indirect way. Considering that and that Renato says they have surpassed their financial milestones, I'll estimate at least five more years.
I think we should account for what the Ian Bell collab might bring.

They are trying to get the slipstream benefit from their opponents. Similar to infamous qualifying on Monza where nobody wanted to go first. Still realistic ;)

No. Faster AI just crawl behind slower ones for ages, achieving much slower laptimes than they could do without traffic because of their inability to overtake on most tracks. Same as in races.

Cars with DRS close the wing all the time because of ramming other cars and then brake instead of having a clean overtake manoeuvre.

I wonder if the new tyre adjustements will have a positive reception
I remember the first time I tried the Stock 2024 I though to myself that it was undriveable. But after persisting I felt in love. And it has actually spoilt the rest of the classes for me.

I got the game in the Christmas sales, already with 1.5 physics and I didnt like it. I enjoyed my first race but then I went to sleep and I though... "wait a moment how is it possible that I drove that car with no electronics, for the first time and I did not get a single spin?, is this game a real sim?"

There I learnt about the grip curve, some games like iRacing have a very pointy grip curve, if you overdrive it is game over. This is also very unrealistic and turns the game into a sort of blackjack card game but with the grip. Everybody is afraid of going a bit too much over the limit of grip.
In AMS2 1.5 the problem is the oposite, it you go over the limit... just countersteer and happy days.
Hopefully Reiza will find the sweet spot with 1.6, something probably similar to LMU/Rf2. But... will the average AMS2 user be happy with that?
