Automobilista 2 May 2024 Development Update - The Road to V1.6 Pt1

That content is some of my dream content. That era of DTM and the tracks as well.

 

AMS2 has a huge fun factor compared to other sim racing games like ACC. Sometimes I make a trip to ACC or AC which for me have more of an irritation factor. When I come back to AMS2 I immediately get a smile on my face and have fun driving again. Today I already install Raceroom, it used to be my big favorite before I got to know AMS2. I am curious about the big AMS2 update and hopefully the Alfa will join the Audi in the classic 90s DTM cars.

 

With the Vulkan option, I might be able to play it again. FPS went from great to unplayable on some tracks.
RRE is nowhere as in tune than AMS2, but has the best collection of FWD models. I like that challenge.

 

That reminds me - we're getting the Quattro V8 and the Audi R8s... are there any 4wd cars in AMS 2 at the moment?

 

Nah I never liked the "Here have some s**t cars for free but if you wanna win pay up" model..
Though at least it's cheaper the iRacing is and you don't have to pay monthly to play with content you paid for (that's just my opinion though so don't strangle me for it lol).

From memory there's the 4 rallycross (RX) cars and the pair of Mitsubishi Lancers but that's all... For now....
Though pretty sure the R8 is RWD, it is according to Audi anyway..

OH yes, sorry, the GT3 Audis weren't allowed to be 4WD, I apologise.

 

LOL no need to apologise I thought the procar was 4WD till I looked it up

• Adding Lamborghini
• Some new 2024 GT3 cars
• Vintage content with period tracks
• Updates to their great historic content

I love FWD. ....and RRE is the only simulation I've never tried. I see myself installing it this weekend. Does RRE have VR and is it good or rather ACC?

 

RR is, physics wise, definitely the most underrated sim out there.
I just saw a YT video (with the new to be launched version) and from the driver's perspective I imediatly recognize the car was a 4WD (my ignorance of racing history don't allow me to know sh*t about what those cars were back then).
The lack of day/night cycle, lack of rain (and other weather attributes) and mediocre graphics conspire to it's failure.
I can imagine it's physics in AMS2... (and perhaps I can experience them one day )

 

Yes, RR3 has VR, can’t really comment about the performance though, as I use trackIR, but there is plenty of info’ out there. Now their huge update is coming on the 4th September, performance will improve anyway. It’s a fantastic sim with, like AMS2, some awesome vintage content, such as Group 5, and period tracks. It will also have a full 2024 DTM grid, and 1995 DTM grid as well. It can’t match AMS2 for graphics, weather, daytime/nightime racing, which in my view is unmatched by any sim, but this update should be worth looking into, for sure; RR3 is a worthy sim.

 

I know I'm beating a dead horse but I wonder if the 2 remaining dev updates will be released in quick succession now that September is about to begin and the supposed release is somewhere in Mid September.

As always though, very very excited!

 

Probably one at the very end of August and the other immediately before the actual game update, assuming it indeed comes in September (which is not guaranteed!)

 

Off Topic, but given the near-total silence from Kunos, I'd be amazed if AC Evo comes out in 2024.

 

There's always near silence from Kunos, they just drop stuff when it's done. Probably one reason I've never actually been hyped for any ACC stuff for years (that and the lack of grid customisation features for SP) and have hundreds of bucks' worth of content on my Steam Wishlist.

I think it was going to be Early Access in '24 only - wouldn't surprise me if it does move back (but stay in the current financial year, ie before April) but also wouldn't surprise me if they say "EA releases in 10 days"

 

the best stuff from RRE is indeed its touring cars collection

 

I think there will be only one dev update log around the time the update drops

 

Who was it who was doing the funny songs about waiting for the update? I could go for another one of those rn...
