Oh I sure hope it doesn't tank the performance too much. I love AMS2 exactly for the performance of the game. It's modern, looks insanely good and still runs like a champ on my GTX970. Runs better then any other racing sim.

I believe Renato confirmed that they won’t do graphics adjustments which tank performance. They will try and make it so there is either no difference or a very small one in terms of performance (in terms of negative impact)

It's a big relief to know that most of us won't need to invest in hardware for at least a couple of years. The GPU market is still terrible in performance/price and the money is scarce these day for many.

Hopefully AC Evo requirements will be low enough as it is the other game I care about.

Will we get the dev update today? Mid September is around the corner.

maybe one of the beta testers might be able to chime in and correct me if im wrong but if your comp is able to run FU2 on ibarra circuit then you should be in good stead for the overall 1.6 update when it comes. Bear in mind i did read earlier in the posts that although the 2024 stock car and the FU2 are a representation of whats to come in 1.6 they have improved them further than their current version

Renato never said when it will come out so whenever it’s ready is when it will come out

For me no problem if the graphical update tank a little bit the FPS

We should remember that the graphical engine was for a game out in 2017 (pcars 2).

Since 2017 the hardware marked as evolved a lot and the game is very easy to run so it is normal to update the graphics and use all the power of new hardware

Last time Renato showed up here he said the dev update should be released in a matter of days. I know we shouldn't take that as granted as delays may occur, but I believe that today there is a good chance we see the dev update part 2.

In a future update i would love to see some cars and more tracks from -Juan Manuel Fangio era -
I love the older grand prix cars with no modern driving aids.

    I'm in the same boat.
And after trying RRE again, well... that's when we see the progress some sims have (AMS2) and others just don't (RRE, rF2, LMU, ACC).

I recently went over LMU, parked the car in the main straight in a place I can see Variant del Rettifilo and took a screenshot.
Then, I launched AMS2, parked the car in the same spot and adjusted FOV, pitch and colors (just gamma and a little color correction) to match.
I used to have a 56º FOV from the calculated 60º. Now I have 62º to match LMU's FOV. Not that LMU is right and AMS2 is wrong, it was just "to get the same thing".
I can say the difference is huge. AMS2 seems much more natural.

To some extend, that's my fault, but I recently put forward a problem about been unable to adjust monitor size and distance in AMS2. Well, we don't have to.
While LMU doesn't care for FOV setting (at least with triples), AMS2 doesn't care for monitors's physical dimensions. Why both sims present users settings that do nothing?
