I want pretty wet tyres. Reiza, get rid of these HORRENDOUS wet tyres, or I'll uninstall this game!

    NOW!

If you won't spoil the update I will.

It's stated in the video that the AI run on simplified physics, as they do on most games. If you don't see an improvement on how they defend and attack in that video, then your standards are simply beyond what the game and frankly most racing games can deliver, so you will probably be disappointed when the update does releases regarding the AI.

Hey it is my opinion. I am also not a fan of those gloves. Also I think pretty graphics is also very important for immersion.
It was just what I noticed right away. And they don't have to change anything if they are fine with it. After all there are so many opinions.

Oh I certainly see the difference and I applaud them for it. Yeah maybe I have unrealistic standards.

You can hand an opinion, and opposing opinions are important for development. But there is tactful way of doing it. You stormed in like a bull in a china shop.

Oh sorry. That wasn't what I meant to do. Sorry for being too harsh. I shall think of it the next time when I write a post. Sorry, all and devs.

I agree that in the video the wet tires look a bit off, but that maybe due to youtube compression. Hopefully more detail can be seen in game.

I thought the AI looked greatly improved, their track placement, defending and attacking all looked noticeably better, I hope they are as good in all classes.

I would like to see the physical movement of the AI cars improved at some point in the future, but that is a big second to how they actually race.

I understand you have your opinions and that's fine, but even if you're disappointed with what you have seen so far, if you are happy with how the cars drive in 1.6 will you even care about the points you made?

Isn't that just Jerez? You can clearly recognize the pit entry and final corner in the bottom half of the image.

Okay, T1 is a little bit off.

I think the tyres are the same, but now they appears wet in wet. They are round and black, ugly as usual:

I already am seeing many things about the AI that i am liking.
Cannot wait to make a proper deep-dive into everything regarding their abilities on my own !

Eu queria que a última volta fosse aberta com a bandeira branca. Isso á algo que sinto falta no AMS2 e que talvez não fosse tão difícil de inserir no jogo.
I wish the last lap was open with the white flag. That's something I miss in AMS2 and maybe it wouldn't be so hard to add to the game.

If there's anything I dislike about that AI video, it's the fact that 1.6 probably won't come with human driver skills comparable to those of Renato (or whoever recorded the video).

If I could drive like that, most of my issues with the game would be resolved! :p

(But on a more serious note, I gotta admit the AI behavior looks very impressive compared to anything I've seen in AMS2 in the past. But I reckon it will require many more cycles of adjustments until all classes are that good, especially when it comes to multi-class racing.)

Would you say that the multi-class passing-slower-cars problem is improved, from your experience in the big B?

Haven't really done a lot of racing against the AI lately, but from what I've seen, definitely. In fact, I think they may be better at passing slower cars now than I am, i.e. in a GTP vs GTD scenario.

Then again, that's not saying much given my skills. ;)

Keep in mind that there's a lot of moving parts in 1.6 development though, so changes may not always be linear towards improvement; whenever something physics-related is changed, AI may require further fine-tuning to get back (or even surpass) a previous state in its quality.

Looking at the onboard video around Monza it surely does look a lot better.

Turn ins are a lot tighter, current F1 car would be a lot softer and have more sway on turn ins and general stability. This is the core issue with grip levels and its great to see just by onboard that it looks better already!

If Ai cars ran the full physics model we’d probably end up with a bunch of complaints that people can only run a grid of half a dozen cars when using processor X. The full physics model would need a lot more compute and then you need to multiply it by the number of cars running. If you built a sim with two AI options, “basic” physics for lower powered CPUs and “full” physics for higher power CPUs people would no doubt get annoyed that they were missing out using the basic model.

The new AI definitely looks better. What I would still like to see is variance from lap to lap. When I drive against human opponents, it's rare that they drive equally well or badly in the same places. In AMS2 against the AI, however, it can happen that the AI always makes exactly the same mistake in the same places, so it's very predictable. Of course, this can also be due to a problematic AI line.
