Not really the place to discuss the merits of RF2, but how terrible it is, is greatly exaggerated.

 

Also love the rally cross but kart cross is my favourite vehicle - what time do you open the server i will keep an eye out.

 

I love RX and Kart Cross. I do tend to like dirt racing in general though. I always found the Formula Dirt flat out weird handling wise though.

 

CET evening, I don't have a specific time tbh. And not every day I do it.
It would be nice to have a dedicated server running RX 24/7. It would help to gather those who enjoy it.

I agree on that. We should have a lot more dirt and kart tracks. Variety is what makes AMS 2 my favourite sim.

Btw, I just tried RX for the first time in iracing and it was in Daytona, why we don't have it in AMS 2?

 

I should give kart cross a second chance I guess.

 

I have almost the same conf as you, only 4080, and I use MSAA high. Aliasing is awful with SMAA, would have to add some SSAA and then it is a performance killer.

EDIT: I don't have a VR headset, though.

 

Question for all the multiclass fans: I like setting up GT3/GT4 races on the Nordschleife (60x time progression). In the real 24h-Nürburgring-Race, there are several slower car classes on track. Which classes would you add to get that feeling? I tried Lancer-Cup but those have no headlights (why?!). Same with RX cars. Sometimes I add the Volkswagen Cup cars but they seem to be a little too slow. Let me hear your favourite combinations!

 

I did that already and with the rain i have some drops. But probably i can use MSAA and lower the track detials and enironmental.

 

I have not. I looked (briefly) at add on straps when I got the Quest 2 and then decided not to bother as 1) those I found were ridiculously expensive for what they are and 2) I'm not really into long races anyway. That said, I would like to be able to run longer than circa thirty minutes, so I'll maybe have a better hunt around for one now.

 

What is so terrible and disastrous about Rfactor 2? I don't understand you...

 

Did you also do it at night and start in front of a max AI grid?

 

If you don´t mind using modded cars, there are four TCR cars from Xela1 (Megane, Astra, Civic, A45). Also, you can add some Audi TT Cup and of course the 992 Porsche Cup cars. Maybe add the old M3 E92 GT2, the 488 GT3 and the AM Vantage GTE 2019 to it (make them slower with custom grid AI tweaks).

For a more authentic grid, we would also need the AM Vantage GT3/GT4, 296 GT3 and of course: the Supra GT4 and new M4 GT4 and the Dacia! That would be a dream...

 

You can find good prices on Amazon. Believe me, any cheap one will be an upgrade. Try to find one with a good review, you can refund if you don't like it anyway.

 

What about the Ginetta Cup cars? Maybe they will fit perfect.

 

I really don‘t like the downshift protection in the GT3 cars in Rfactor2. You can only downshift with not throttle applied at all & I don‘t like that at all.
But before that the GT3 cars felt great, now my favorite ones are the ones in Raceroom. The Porsche 992 and the Ferrari 296 are very, very good and the new BMW M4 is awesome, too.
I bet LMU will get a lot more popular once they release the GT3 cars. There were wonderful GT3 cars in WEC this season, like the Aston Martin Vatntage Evo & the Fore Mustang.

 

Unfortunately the average sim racer seems unable to drive decently cars with no ABS and TC

 

The RX content generally tends to lag behind in the development process. I suspect focus will shift back to it at some point later on.

 

I would like the Karts to be improved too.
Recently tried the Superkarts at Bathurst. Visual in VR it's unbelievable, but nearly undrivable too.

 

I guess also that while there is great passion in the developers and desire to make things they like from all sides of motorsport, it's plausible that the adrenaline pack didn't sell nearly as well as e.g. the endurance pack, and this would at least guide the direction of development.

 

Me neither, and the implementation is nothing like the market leading GT3 simulator, which you'd think would be the benchmark for realism. Apparently, the shift protection is programmable, and while it is possible to set it up like it is in rF2, in real life nobody configures it like that.
