That is this week's version of the highly regulated F1 standard. As you know, it keeps evolving based on various high-profile incidents and that rule is not followed by any other series that I am aware of. Most series have no rules, allowing nature to take its course.

I have zero expectation that the most current approach from F1 entertainment company would or should be applied to the vast array of series in AMS 2, and that includes F-Ultimate Gen 2. I have little expectation that individual and differing series-based rules/behaviours of this nature can be applied in the game. If we are fortunate, the AI will follow time-tested approaches to corners, which require BOTH parties (AI vs AI or AI vs player) to use discretion and assumes BOTH parties want to come out the other side of the corner with a functioning, raceable vehicle. That's as much as we can expect from AI in 2024, IMO.

If it is achieved, AI will be vastly superior to most human vs human interaction in MP.

 

well it would be nice to have the option to change that critical 'overlap' point. tbh I really dislike this aspect of AI behaviour, challenging for a corner, not the challenge but the safety of it as you point out and personally with my skills or lack of they are constantly trying to force their way in when the corner is already being entered, the end result being me paying more attention to the rear and less to the front else that exit without a functioning car result.
The way that makes most sense to me is described in the two posts I linked regarding racing rules and dive-bombing (which I also hate), if you have the legal amount of overlap determined by series as we enter a corner, I'll give you room, if you don't back out the corner is mine!
I understand it may not be possible to do in the code but my suggestion would be settings like front wheels ahead of rear wheels, front wheels alongside rear of door arch or how official series do it. Surely there is always an overlap rule? hoping for safe clean racing based on skill not aggression.

 

Today is September 25th, 3 months until Christmas, let's see many new cars and tracks we'll get until then.

 

Update 2 part 3 in 1 month and a release in december ??? Is there any window time line ? Summer is over…

 

20 days ago, Renato said it was a matter of weeks for the 1.6 update, not months. So it could be anytime now. Unless they've encountered a massive bug, we should get the update before December ^^

 

We havnt seen the 'more coming' over the next few days yet. Unfortunate.

I started playing X4 recently. It is a space game, and now I'm addicted. I even ordered a joystick and throttle. I don't care about 1.6 anymore . I'm too busy conkering the universe.

 

A “few” typically refers to the vicinity of 3 to 7 of something. A few days would be longer than a couple (two) but shorter than a week (seven). So the time duration could range from three to six days and still be classified as a few.

Of course it would make the most sense to release it over the Petit Le Mans Weekend, but that was barely the criteria for Reiza to release stuff, last time was when Spa 22 dropped iirc
