Im questioning if that will include anything that us forum folks not already know - considering how top secret Reiza usually is. Or it conicides with Dev Update 3.

 

Dev update 3 will talk about sound so maybe WE will discover new things

 

Between the "salad dressing" comment and the fact that the artist formerly known as RaceDepartment is giving early previews on it I think I finally can give myself permission to start being a little hyped

 

It says exclusive. This means there will be something new for everyone, perhaps more interesting footage

 

We have 5 hours before the start of the broadcast, we need to have time to type 200+ pages in this topic so that Renato can proudly release v1.6 into the public domain!

In normal marketing terms, it would make a lot of sense for an exclusive preview to hit a week or two before public release. I'm cautiously optimistic for October 4/5/6 launch.

At the very least I hope the exclusive preview provides a firm release date.

This is specific to the Oculus SDK in my experience which the executable forces on you no matter what you select during startup. Not a true fix for the root cause with Oculus, but a two birds with one stone improvement would be to allow Meta headsets to run in SteamVR. Or OpenXR through OpenComposite or whatever is the hottest thing nowadays

 

How about this weeked guys.Part 3 hits tommorow and update on Saturday. I can feel it in my bones.

 

If Overtake is giving a full preview today, we might get dev update #3 as well. The update itself shouldn't be far off, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it arrives this week. Though with Reiza, we never know—it could drop tonight or in 2025

 

They are optimistic, but they manage cubs and grass better than us. Some of those moves would put me with a "pancake look" against a wall.
I've been calling for a more aggressive AI, but perhaps we are seen the same reality, just from a different angle.
If collisions could cause car unsettlement more often (and consequent loss of control of the car, loss of time to recover, etc.), with the current car damage model, it would be just fine.

On the other hand, if we do a dive bomb towards appex, where the AI is, it many times avoids us by doing 'impossible physics' ('impossible' fast lateral movements).

I just tend to think... if Reiza is/was not happy with the product, do we really want the sim in that state, instead of wait a little longer?

If you’re going to be increasing the hype even further by putting this video out today I’d expect the release to be imminent unless they clearly state in the preview when it’s coming out.

Given the amount of discussion around 1.6 I’d have only scheduled this with Overtake if the release was over this weekend, otherwise I would have asked them to delay.

 

I really love this hobby and enjoy playing almost every sim racing title, but only AMS2 gets me excited for each update, like a little kid waiting to open a Christmas gift.
