Yes and no. There has been work done, but none are yet on the "ready" list even in Beta.

You are 100% right Renato, and I very much appreciate your response! A big reason I made that post was to put out there that my frustration came from my own desire to be taken seriously, but that very much got lost when I lumped all of you at Reiza and other PC members into it when in reality I'm mainly worried about my own reputation. Honestly not good at all, very disappointed in myself about that but hey that's how we learn and grow!

My estimate is 2025 for 1.6. similar to assetto corsa evo, where they also miscalculated.

They are conniving, joining forces against us already? They are sentient...

The update look epic. I just don’t understand how close are you from release. And is it difficult to say christmas, or october or maybe you don’t know.

Had exactly the same experience at Sebring. AI was often faster than me in lapping GT3s unless I really pushed like in real life elbows out. I was really smiling when trying to leave the AIs GTPs behind me. I couldn't open a gap with lapped cars as I used to do with v1.5.

Coming soon to this forum: "the AI are too good at overtaking in multi-class races!"

FWIW: I have trouble too keeping up with them lately if I have AI strength dialed in correctly, bit track dependent.

Could someone who’s tested 1.6 (and can comment) answer something for me?

Are we experiencing a “cars are easier to drive until they aren’t" situation with the pending update?

I've seen several posts during the past week or so mention that cars are easier to spin in 1.6. But in the latest public release, I've found the Brazilian stock cars (2024) and F1 Ultimate Gen 2s — both of which have the 1.6 physics applied — to be much easier to control than 1.5. They're far more predictable and less prone to sliding or lift-off oversteer.

It’s just made me a bit curious. I mostly drive GT3s, which are already a bit slippy at times in AMS2, and have fully expected the cars to feel more "planted" in 1.6.

    We will see.
I have enough patience to wait.
On the other hand, I'm of course happy if it comes sooner rather than later.

Oh my God I'm feeling old
I think my cheese just got some mould
but deep deep down what would be nice
is an old Cortina and some furry dice

My contribution to not taking things too seriously, life's too short. All my own work BTW. ;-)

I'm not in the beta, but other people who are will tell you this as well; aforementioned cars were done months ago and in no way represent the state of physics/tire model as it currently stands.
"Beta people" have mentioned before that much has changed since then.
So don't go on what your experience is with those cars, and build expectations on that please, for your own good!:D

They don't have 1.6 physics applied, they have some parts of it in early state.

But yeah, below the limit it will probably be less flat between stick until slide comes and slide does also mean more danger. (Obviously it shouldn't become on rails either, unless you are at higher speed for something like F-Ultimate of course)

What I miss in the AI is the accordion effect. At the braking point the cars come closer and in the end of the corner the cars going away because they have different time to accerlate. In AMS2, the gape is always the same even in the corners. I think thats the main problem why the AI stuck thogether.

I remember a few physics comparisions were made between 1.2 and 1.3 back in the day to show the diff stick defeat: might something similar be a good idea for 1.5 vs 1.6 to highlight the difference in car characteristics? Maybe a specific car/track combo with telemetry to show what's going on, possibly with a showcase of some situations where the physics have been dialed in (for instance showing how the cars react better to aggressive driving such as heavy steering input)

Anyone else having trouble driving the low downforce GTP's? I mean I get that they're low downforce, but I feel like if you step slightly off line or brake in the slightly unoptimal line. You go straight into a spin. Let's hope the low downforce GTP's are a bit better in 1.6!:)

Has anyone who has been testing the 1.6 update tried it on controller? If so how does it feel?
