That is awsome and he says similar earlier in the stream and has on other streams of his. He is a tough cookie and wouldnt be saying it under any pressure imho; he is very direct with his (negative) feedback on AMS2 for other patches, always saying its not there. So this is MASSIVE.

Was this image in the part 2 dev update when first posted? I don't remember it.

Note the track state info, ‘snow 0%.’

It was and snow is probably just because ME can simulate it. Doesn’t mean Reiza will, but they can

Snow is from the Madness Engine. Project CARS 2 was built to have snow. And since AMS2 uses the same engine, therefore it could potentially have snow also. But since the physics calibration from AMS2 is different from PCARS2, Reiza would have to make a ton of tests to see how the engine works on these conditions with their tire models. Not to mention the colossal work to create new textures for trees and many other assets.
In theory, AMS2 could potentially have snow. It's already there. But the amount of time and work would be very big. At least that's what I think.

By the way, you can play with snow RIGTH NOW if you want. All you have to do is download and install one of the Project CARS Modding Team tracks. Many of them, if not all of them, have this option enabled. But I can't really say anything about the physics. First, I'm Brazilian. I've never seen snow in my life. I don't even know of it really exists, not to say how a car would behave on these conditions. Second, I think Reiza cars don't have snow tires. Maybe the modded cars have. But I've never tested it myself.

Nils, himself, supports this view all stream long... he must really hate confirmation bias (as we all should). ;)
But, Nils has 29K followers and the "Ohh! Ohhh!, Ohhh!...Guys!! Guys!! Guys!!... Amazing!!!" channel (read Jardier), has 100K more!!

I mean I personally don't need and don't care for comfirmation from streamers/youtubers but I highly value confirmation from actual drivers.
If someone like Max Verstappen who is an avid simracer and 3 time F1 world champion comes along and says your game doesn't simulate car behaviour correctly, well it most likely doesn't...
Although I do believe that it makes absolutely no difference for the average simracer out there. At the end of the day we just want to have fun driving while feeling like we are actually in a racecar. We don't notice the small quirks in the car handling.

People are people. As Harari (Yuval Noah Harari - Wikipedia) says, people like stories, fantasies, illusions. They don't like the true, it's often inconvenient and, many times, also painfull. Our cognitive biases do the rest.
Nils is sharp, incisive but still tries to be polite. Still, 'only' 29K.

Nils also said everyone is looking for a different thing and makes sense of the world in different ways. Different 'pro drivers' have distinct oppinions. Verstappens's oppinion is just one of them, he's not the 'true' (and I greatly admire him).

Someone on the feed talked about two real AMG GT3 drivers, one says iRacing all the way, the other says ACC no doubt!
Another GT3 driver uses AMS2 to practice...
    Who's right then?

AMS2 is not that realistic... Just started a race at Le Mans, real weather, it is raining but I can still hear birds singing . Please, Reiza, fix this!!

BTW, when will v1.6 be realeased? Is the most important feature* already implemented as promised? :D:D:D

about a week ago IIRC, right after the exclusive OT.gg preview stream, renato posted here about the green light he gave to YT content creators/streamers etc to make preview vids about v1.6.
    what happened?
is there any video up yet? .
if yes, please share the link here. thanks

I don't know, but I assume it has to do with some moving parts in beta that public is not supposed to see, especially WRT sounds.

Nils said something about the missing green light to publish the preview.
The Renato's green light must had been to produce the preview.
