Automobilista 2 September 2024 Development Update - The Road to V1.6 Pt2

Just took the Formula Junior around Monaco (60x time progression). I must admit, it's hard to imagine the F-Junior improving even further in 1.6. It feels absolutely sublime already in 1.5.6.3.

 

I got the full game less then a month ago. With the loose target for the release being Summer 2024 I was hoping to get a chance to try the 1.6 before going off to college but that didn't happen. I am a bit dissapointed by it but don't regret the purchase at all. Quite the contrary. The game has given me 51.5 hours (for now) of nothing but pure fun. It has easily become my main sim. Also the community that is gathered around this game is really welcoming to new players and the communication we get with the devs makes this whole thing feel like a huuuuge group of friends contributing to some common project. And the fact that we are getting the 1.6 a bit later just makes me more excited to try it out once I go back for Christmas holidays

 

The current version is also fun. Yesterday 3 hours with the community on spa-francorchamps. There's no better way to shorten the wait for 1.6.

As usual you are dramatic but not really wrong. I think Reiza should consider to take over racecraft online, now sadly in palliative care. LFM seem to be very opinionated, a bit cocky and AMS2 online future should not depend just on them. Their website is horrible.

If a couple of guys can run racecraft online in their spare time I doubt that Reiza couldn't afford it.

 

I was almost missing Majestic's shenanigans, its been some time.

 

I like coming to read this forum but some people do act like 1.6 is the release of a game. I play 1.5 everyday, have a great time and races. It's all still there, it's a great game.

 

Well, luckily you don't miss much, it's pretty much the same story everytime, like a broken record....

 

One recommendation i have is...

Take a deep breath, open your front door and go for a walk, you'll feel better afterwards with a clear head.

 

Once the Update is available..is a new fresh install recommended or just install as usual?

 

On Thursday we drove an online test race on Sebring with the GT3 Gen2 in the beta, which was incredible fun. After that I switched to iRacing Porsche Cup also on Sebring and I just thought how lax and soft Sebring felt on iRacing compared to the AMS2 version.

 

Just my 2 cents: It can never hurt to do a file validation check in Steam after the update

If you like it so much that it's hard to imagine how it can improve, then make note of how it feels now. When the update drops, let it be the first thing you try.

As far as I remember AC or rf2 where also implemented in the middle of the season. So calm down. We will all get our treats soon enough!

 

Well whom ever thought that after all those years of AMS and using custom FFB files, encountered this post, dialed the FFB in with your tips and have the best fun ever. It feel so much more alive. Thanks for this eyeopener. There will be user that will not agree but for me that is ok. The only thing that matters is my own experience and with your tips it gave it a huge boost.

That's actually a good idea! I really like RCO. If AMS2 let us open the website within the game and automatically join lobbies from there, that would be amazing!
