Time passes slowly in the ams2 forums, maybe we do need that Delorean after all

 

To be fair, there is no info there about the update or the game itself.. so it doesn't give anything to talk about game related

 

yeah, but radio silence means no communication at all, which isn't the case.

 

What is actually the hardest point in the devloppement actually ?

 

I have free Thursday and Friday this week + weekend... Just saying

 

The problem is when it comes to Reiza giving news they are damnned if they do and damned if they don't.

Personally I would like to see weekly development updates even if it's a paragraph or two. Others complain and say Reiza should say nothing and release updates out of the blue.

Then there is the whole thing of stuff being taken out of context or every word dissected a thousand times.

I have said it before and I will say it again, you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you will never please all of the people all of the time.

 

It's not difficult to understand that Reiza is working as fast as they can to get 1.6 out of the door and it is the priority over everything else. It's such a large update touching all aspects of the game that it is taking longer than anticipated. One day you will wake up and it will be there. In true software development fashion, the remaining 10% take 90% of the time.

 

Just cause this also needs to be said every once in a while to balance out the slight saltiness that can be tasted here sometimes: Take your time lovely Reiza peeps, love the sim as is and I trust you to make it even better. I'd honestly rather have the update in 6 more months than requiring crunch / having it unfinished.

In my opinion the sim market is not a zero-sum game and the "competition" some people seem to be very worried about is overblown. My impression is that a lot of people play multiple sims, and the more the merrier I say.

 

What do you mean by and there is time ? Can we expect it before black friday ?

 

You can expect whatever you want, question is if your expectations will be met...

You wont get a exact release date, as that's not the way Reiza works, history shows that

 

Handling impatient gamers in the forums!

 

"currently team is crunching the completion" = Reiza are fully occupied trying to complete the update.

"info posts will come when the time is right" = Reiza will post the awaited devblog when they are ready to do so and when they are confident that what they write will be relevant to the update - ie not "selling" something that ends up being pushed to future and also not omitting anything that may have been added or pulled in unexpectedly.

"and there is time" = see point 1. Reiza are in crunch mode working on the actual update. This includes Renato himself. Consequently, Renato will post devblogs when he can find the time - ie working on the update itself takes precedence.

If we join the dots here and remember that Reiza always prioritise the actual game and work above 'nice to have' communication articles then wouldn't we understand that repeatedly asking about dates and timescales is largely pointless? Also consider that the more we "force" Reiza to read and respond to us here, the more we are actually delaying the update!

 

Maybe Renato took the Delorean back to some time in the 1960s to get better pics of Spa and Nordscleische but is having too much fun.

If you're going to make up conspiracy theories, might as well have a laugh.

 

Looking forward 1.6 and looking forward to ACE when they arrive.

in the meantime, as hard as it is to believe, AMS2 is still working and fantastic fun.

 

I took my typical summer break from sim racing. Got back into the rig coupla days ago. AMS2 1.5.3 is like a new game to me now. I hear there's an update on the way. Cool!
