Yes - F1 22 and 23 has amazing AI that knows how to overtake, defend inside of a corner, changes lanes on a straight to block every time, knows how to pass around lap down cars, and lap down cars know how to yield in the race, while AI knows how to yield when you are on a hotlap on practice and / or qualifying.

 

What do you want them to do?

I've tried some (no so) subtle hinting myself and I'm currently considering increasing my bribe ammouts to see if senpai Reiza notices me.

But it's good to see Nils & Mike's content today, hopefully it's feeds the stomachs for everyone seeking a 1.6 flavoured meal.

 

Aye, but F1 games don't have to worry about humongous speed differences between classes is my point. Stick the entire F3 grid into an F1 race and see how the F1 cars do with lapping then.

As I say, no-one is looking for AI improvements more than me, but I'll be fair and appreciate the improvements. For sure it's not perfect but it's probably got the best AI-to-car-variety ratio in any car game (which I realise isn't realistically quantifiable) - one reason I'd much prefer to see a more focused game without so many disciplines, but we are where we are now and Reiza are definitely taking steps (if maybe not leaps) forward.

 

Also they sell a yearly $60-100 for exactly the same game over and over selling millions of copies every year probably and therefore the vast majority of their budget goes into ads, career and AI... A bit of a different perspective/angle on simracing than AMS2 I would say...

Now that I think about it, I remember on one of the dev's updates saying that we could allocate a maximum number of tires for the weekend. Since there hasn't been any mention of forced tire compound change for the AI, does that means that we can allocate let's say 3 tires for the weekend, them being one soft, one medium, and one hard, that way forcing the AI to use different compounds? For like Formula and Formula USA.

Mike is a nice guy and Im happy him and Nils are included in the previews both of which I respect a lot for their own strengths.

So sad to see people want to tear others down - especially when there really is no valid reason given behind it.

 

My favorite part is the "next few days" part, lol.

 

F1 AI - 1 car class, limited tracks .
Ams2 - 80 odd cars of slightly different power . 200 track layouts at least .

 

Also the Codies F1 games also have over a decade worth of time to improve their AI to the point where it is today and even then people have found plenty of issues with them. Just today I came across a video of a guy getting damaged because of a lapped car, and know that YouTubers like WindVOW (if you run in NASCAR communities, you know him) had completely given up on F1 2023 specifically because of the AI's inconsistency.

AMS 2's AI won't ever be perfect, I don't see it ever getting to the levels of the Codies F1 games (can't speak much on other competitors) but there have undoubtedly been massive strides in my own experience. I had watched a few AI races recently and I was blown away compared to what I had remembered in 1.5, things buy and large looked a lot more realistic. Not perfect, still some AMS 2isms in there, but still a large step up.

 

Yeah, need to see more F-Ultimate Gen 2 at night.

This Porsche is not a new car. You can buy and drive it about 11 months i think
why not asked for the Audi or Lambo ?

 

I own it, I drive it regularly, I know where and how it exposes the limitations in physics of v1. 5. Therefore a vid of it in 1.6 would be golden to me. But actually also a m1 procar, or a gt4.. . . Or a dtm... I just find a bit silly that with the variety ams2 offers, we have 3 vids and 3 lmdh...
