Featured Automobilista 2 V1.6 Development Update - The New Cars

Because "beta boys" can actually witness what's happening under the hood more and can appreciate the hard work the team delivers update after update and how much effort it took to get where we are.
They're also more invested in the title and reporting bugs/discrepancies that are not fun to encounter so non-beta players can enjoy the title with less things to worry about

It's easy to think that 1.6 should be a walk in the park and delivered months ago, but once you get insights into the process, the delays make more sense.

See, why AMS2 is always received with such negativity and doubt that spread all over?

Is It something that you feel is happening or It ___just___ happens?

 

You feel it very clearly; front tyre grip may be the strongest point of the FFB.

 

I second this post - I have Beta access but I don’t use the Beta because I can’t give the proper insight into what’s “right” or “wrong” with the software in an objective manner. I read the feedback other testers post there and it feels like an impossible job to make everyone happy half the time. Developing this game must give Renato and his team nightmares sometimes with what everyone wants the thing to feel like, so I have some sympathy for the human side of all this. Beta testing isn’t intending to delay and delay release by finding gamekilling issues that make the game a CTD-fest but to give constructive feedback on what changes are being applied. Nobody in the Beta program wants the thing to keep being delayed - we (lazy non-test-active members like me included) want everyone to have access to the best product possible.

 

I'm sure Renato, Steel and Crimson would actually very much appreciate the feedback of someone who has driven a GT3 in his life ^^ (as would all beta testers).

 

It’s hot, deafening, and physically completely displaced from my little sim setup in my comfortable non-physics affected seat Thank you for the compliment though.

edit: I’ve not been able to drive any car in AMS2 to the point where it scared me as much as the McLaren did. AMS2 = fun at home. Driving McLaren = fun outside but also with added bonus of risk to self.

 

So what you're saying is that I should put my Heater on max, Heavy metal in my ears and should only simrace when there's an earthquake going on? Got it!

THIS, it is genuinely no fun at all having to keep this all to ourselves, I hate it! Half the enjoyment I get from the things I like is sharing that joy with others. It's why I'm itching for 1.6 to release because I can't wait to see how people will react to it to the various improvements that's been made

 

Especially when sleeping.

 

To follow up on this. Only the Corvette had these issues. The Mercedes slid a little, but not as much as the Corvette

 

Today I've taken a LMU update, a Rennsport update, a RaceRoom update. Surely the day can only be completed with an AMS2 update. chop chop chaps ;-)

 

I just noticed Mike (SimRacing604) said at the end of his first video something like, “I might just have time to do one more video before this is publicly released”. I don’t know how much he was told before he was given the OK to do his video but if he was given a hint on release it could be very soon. Check his outro on the Sebring Lmdh video.

 

And then we can finally all experience the true step that is made from 1.5 to 1.6 instead of all the endless speculation based on the visuals of someone elses gameplay.

 

While you're all freaking out because a sick man slid a car round a bumpy track while chatting and concluding that 8 months work on our favourite sim has been a waste, I'm getting excited watching the Super Trofeo racing around Jerez and I cannot wait to do so in my favourite sim AMS 2! I'd be happy to do it in 1.5 with the new Super Trofeo but hearing from Nils Naujoks and some beta-boys that the driving is much improved I am very excited!

In WHAT other game can I replicate this, apart from AC where inevitably it will be a complete ballache to get working?

(I just noticed that every single one of the Europe Super Trofeo tracks in already in AMS2, and all but one of the American tracks)


Also regarding Mike's video, which I really enjoyed, did anyone notice that the graphics look INCREDIBLE?

 

I would also add that Beta fanboys have the luxury of constantly testing Beta vs main over and over which means we can clearly see the differences as they happen.
And then someone comes and from a video pretends to say it's all the same and obviously it's difficult to respond to such kind of statements even though we know for a fact it's not the case because we constantly gauge one against the other.

All I see is we really need the next DLC pack to be focus on Asia tracks, at least tracks like Fuji, Bahrain, Sepang, and Tsukuba. There are much more that I can't think of right now.
