    I'm guessing part of the reason is because of Laguna Seca having a lot of NIMBY's. It really sucks but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make if it means we have Aston in GTP. Hopfully there will be no muffler in WEC!

    A lot of off season testing on tracks have decibel restrictions. This is not indicative of what will be run during season.

    Funny thing about the Laguna Seca situation, from my understanding the whole thing is entirely based on just one guy repeatedly complaining and filing lawsuits that immediately get thrown out.

    Question for the paddock club fellas, how are the cold tyres in the new version?

    I've been watching onboards from the Petit Le Mans and noticed just how little grip the hypercars have on fresh cold tyres. Jumped into AMS2 and on the current patch the cars have waaaaaaaaay too much grip on cold rubber.
    Are they still overly forgiving when cold, or are we going to have to actually work to get some temperature into them before being able to turn fast laps?

    I dont know about the hypercars but most of the cars ive tried id say no and yes. Its caught me a couple times. You can definitely find yourself off track if you dont get the tires and brakes warmed up.

    Hello everyone
    I would like to make a few requests to the Reiza team:
    1 - In the Portuguese version of AMS2 there are translations that are covering important information. One example is in the multiplayer screen where the time remaining until the end of the qualifying session is hidden under the sentence. I ask that the word be changed or abbreviated.
    2 - My other requests are merely for my ego:
    Tracks: Curvelo Oval;
    another American oval track (like Charlotte or Texas or Iowa or Pocono);
    Macau (the dream)
    As for cars, I would like them to have the American NASCAR cars, even if they were generic.
    And finally, I would like there to be a white flag on the last lap.

    v1.6 has definitely noticeably less grip on cold tires than v1.5 had. As well as less grip on too hot tires :D

    as it should IRL right?

    S397 has revised the cold/hot tire behavior in recent updates in LMU, making cars easier to thrash as soon as you leave the pits for eaxmple,I dont think its a good move but I also understand they need to please a wider audience to make money

    I wonder what Reiza philosophy is going to be concretely in 1.6

    also, assuming its possible to commnet of course, I am curious to hear people who run Custom FFB files and their impression of before and after 1.6
    I personally use the Full FFB form Joaqim and it has bene really good on my MZA R9, still good on my new SIMAGIC ALPHA

    and sorry if this has been commented already, so many threads on 1.6 topic, difficult to follow everything

    Macau should just be a race for safety cars.

    Just quoting any of the replies in this discussion.
    I don't think this discussion can lead anywhere. It's a design choice in the end and there isn't a correct or wrong one. In a sim you are simply forced to put a number on things. You cannot have something like infinite brake pressure as you would irl, because all our pedals, load cell or not have a maximum input. The only option you have as a dev is where you put the maximum friction between brake disc and brake pad and whether you put this number on an upper credible boundary or a lower credible boundary. ACC has a lower credible boundary (paired with actually funtioning race car ABS) and iRacing has it on the upper credible boundary (without functioning race car ABS :whistle:). Same pedal settings on both games will result in polar opposite perception of the sim: Slam brakes vs. "aaah dont touch me"-brakes.
    As long as the overall pattern is correct, it's fine. i.e. at high speed, high downforce the car will tolerate whatever input as the longitudinal grip is larger than what any irl driver could put into the brake pedal and as speed decreases there will be a point where the tire's grip will not be large enough to cope with maximum brake input. Depending where the max brake friction boundary is set you will get tire locking at a different brake input % at any given speed. Absolutely no big deal, as long as the driver has to adapt and can't stay at 100% into the turn.
    This can also work on non downforce slower cars, where the brakes are simply not strong enough to lock up the tire unless you start turning and unloading the inside - that also exists.

    HOWEVER, while we sit here comparing between sims and trying to find the one "real thing", you can ask 2 race drivers and you will get 2 opinions. There is no definitive answer to it. Some race drivers in some cars (say a AMG GT3) will tell you they are braking just on the activation threshold of the ABS and trail subtly into the turn. Whereas others (say an M4 GT3) will slam the brake very harshly, rely on the ABS until quite deep into the turn and the car will - surprise surprise - stop and turn. Every time the M4 leaves the pits irl, it will do a few laps of electronics calibration, even in a 24h race, to adapt to the current conditions. Once thats done, all 10 or so ABS and TC levels are different to the previous run. So in theory the irl car has infinite TC and ABS levels and will adapt to any of the infinite grip levels that are possible. We won't have that in the sim and have to live with somewhat inadequate settings in comparison.
    Add more drivers of more manufacturers and you get more data points on the entire possible spectrum. You simply can't be correct here as a dev when the reality doesn't have a singular result.
    So save your energy trying to find the single correct thing - there isn't. As a sim dev you often seem to be not just up against trying to mimic reality, but also trying to match people's varying expectation of reality. Tough luck.

    Where Reiza could still work on it is the gradation of the TC With level 1 you still have too much intervention in my opinion, I also don't know if the HUD shows the intervention correctly, because with level 1 you constantly see the TC symbol light up, which you wouldn't expect at the lowest TC level.
