This sounds like it will be only one more dev update IMO

 

My thoughts are that it'll be two more, one focused on Tracks, then another focused on the general updates. He did say he didn't want to write a long one, so it'd be confusing to break off cars into its own but combine tracks and the updates made - since that would be long anyway.

 

I do not think so. You have 15 cars compared to 3 tracks. I wouldn't make dev update for just 3 tracks

 

On the other hand, three tracks is not that much to talk about so a combined "Tracks & everything else" update would make sense, as well.

 

Personally... I am thinking it might be today given: the staging on the Automobilista 2; the fact that usually the last dev update comes out WITH the update, and we've been a week since the cars update. Also Saturn is passing through Copernicus and the planets are aligned in the shape of the Reiza logo. Too many coincidences!

 

Like Dicra said, they have quite a few things left to do until it is ready for the public

 

Maybe there will be track packs we don't know about. With 12 new tracks.

We've not heard anything about that regarding v1.6 so I think it's very unlikely to be part of the next update

Never mind, I had enough trouble explaining what gains means in FFB (vehicle specific, gain, wheel base driver's gain) when it is, to me, very obvious. This thing about brakes, is simple enough (for me) but may confuse most, so I leave it here.

 

Verstappen is just frustrated with games at large, the devs of the Reality engine still haven’t fixed the issues with wet weather physics.

In 2016 you could just drift cars around at totally unrealistic angles in the wet. 8 years on, they finally fixed that, however the flag system is still a mess and driving in the wet is now just too easy and they broke the AI.

You can just start at the back of the field at the highest AI strength and win the race, pretty simcade. The Reality engine clearly is trash, not sure it can ever be fixed.

 

Those slides were so easy to catch back in 2016 before they fixed it.
