Just the way it is w AMS2. It's a small shop more focused on perfection than glory. We all want it yesterday b/c what we have is so very close to being the GOAT racing sim.

You're just going to have to wait.

According to Reiza there are conditions (intermediate) in which AI is a tad too fast for the driver and then full wet track conditions where it is more aligned. This comes from the current need to balance certain aspects of AI. It will be improved in the future.
Also the calibration of AI is always a bit of a work in progress so there could still be tracks or corners that may be outliers and that is worth reporting.
In general it is far more aligned to the player than it was on 1.5 though it is not magically perfect in all corners of all tracks in all conditions

What?! Unacceptable!:D(At least ams2 tends to work fine after a build launches, I'm watching a movie while msfs2024 is attempting a 1st startup on launch day, what a crapshow!)

In 1.5 when driving the M1 Pro Car at Nurburgring Veedol they get supergrip through Ford corner and then they become very slow in Dunlop, i wonder how much that stuff has been improved .

Yeah, it's a mess. Same issue with IL-2 Sturmovik. New update today. I was getting 50kb/s, then it stopped, now it won't quit.

I'd prefer it if they didn't give estimates about updates/release dates. They could say something like "Here is the dev update for the cars, next we'll release a dev update for tracks," with no mention of when.
Constantly missing these dates is a bad look. Less is more.

Knowing how the internet works, people would be asking for an ETA for the new dev update

How many times do we have to have this exact same conversation? My count is up to about 324 (if I go back to AMS days) ;)

I hope one day Reiza will add a Qualifying option called "One-shot", where the session will last just 5 minutes and once you click "Drive" it will teleport you onto the track like how Time Trial does, two or three corners before the start/finish line and you get just that one attempt at a fast lap and if you screw up then tough luck you start from the back, no retries.

On a similar note in regards to qualifying, why are there so MANY leagues and also public lobbies where qualifying is 15 or more minutes long ? Especially leagues pretty much ALL go with 15 minutes, why has that become the default option and nobody wants to do 5 minute private ?

Especially since the bug that was reportedly still not fixed that can freeze the lobby once qualifyin ends. I was once in a public lobby with a 30 (!) minute qualifying that was full with 32 people and then the timer ran out and .. nothing, lobby died then and there, just a waste of time.

It happened a few times in league races where i was in and only after the qualifying froze people were like "People alright with a 5 minute private Q session?" ... like why is that not the first idea ever ?! .. i just don't get it.

Before Private Q sessions were added as an option and i used to host league races, we were still doing 5 minute Quali and with gaps on pit exit we all had just one chance at a lap and if you screwed up then tough luck you start in the back. The racing then was so much better because the fast people sometimes made a mistake and started in the back, slower were more consistent and started midfield or better every now and then.

I can say that for multiclass I enjoy having a bit more time just to make sure that I can turn in one lap that wasn't disturbed by traffic.

Other than that, I don't know. Maybe people like it relaxed. Maybe they want everyone to have enough time that they *really* have done the best time they can and can set up their pit strategies before the race session.

But you can be unlucky and have all of your laps during 15 minutes disturbed with traffic, or just have 5 minute private qualifying and no traffic problems to begin with.

Online Q sessions are really more hope than reality, IMO. It is hard enough to do a Q session with a full field of AI, even though they are more predictable. I would certainly prefer a private Q, regardless of what length is chosen, to avoid the frustration of chaos somewhere on almost every lap (and imagine with proper yellow flags that you must respond to). Then, if there is a systemic problem in the transitions to race sessions...

But, some leagues may get them to work, so do whatever you want. The issue of reverting to default settings is more important in my book. What is the best way to avoid lobbies where it appears no one even cares to check the settings? We can't "hold the mouse" in people's hands.

Public Lobbies will often set 15 as allowing for people to join within that and increase grid as not everyone is going to be searching lobby list at same time .

Leagues can do what they want without needing a specific mode. it’s usually set based on overall time allocated to the session . we like to keep our race nights within about 2 hours sitting.
and often run one long race or two shorter 30 min races . Qualifying time is always factored into the overall time. We can even run top ten in last 5 mins if we wish .

On the topic of cars or the upcoming update, i think the best series on the "endurance" side on LFM should be

Hypercars and the GT3 gen 2 (this would be like the one that needs the most ratings or something)

LMP2s having their own series as i think this might be more accessible for people that might find the hypercars a handful and the racing should be closer

The Ligier LMP3 and the GT4s. This would be like the most accessible one where you can race by just having the base game

Maybe an LMP2 and GT3 gen 1 for a faster version of the one above and still keeping access for those without dlcs through the GT3 gen 1s.

Super Trofeo series too i guess?

I think would be the best way to get the most amount of people involved as there is something for everyone ( also not really repeating classes to keep numbers solid) and all series would be on different tracks for more variety. I personally am a GT cars hater, i just dont like them in any sim as they feel so slow but they are the most raced cars so they (unfortunately? :) )have to be factored.

Usually just lurk on the forums but i hope someone that works at reiza or something sees this. What do you gus think?

maybe LFM like I racing makes a licensing system where you have to climb first before you can drive hypercars
