Featured Automobilista 2 V1.6 Development Update - The New Cars

But unlike HL3, the 1.6 update actually exists.
Actually even Duke Nukem Forever in it's 2001 version exists too !
Not for this forum so to keep it brief - 01 version leaked with all content and modders are finishing it.

 

I love watching the AI race, and I must say I was really impressed with what I saw in the beta compared to what I remembered from the main release. I was actually pretty surprised with how much more realistic it felt, though still not perfect of course!

 

yet happens accidents? i like how AI can spin out or crash alone in 1.5 update, but is really bad how faster cars stay behind slow cars without overtake, even on blue flag condition

 

The difference between 1.6 and something like Duke Nukem Forever is that Duke Nukem went through development hell, that has not been the case with 1.6 at all. It takes much more than a long development time for a game to become a disaster like Duke Nukem Forever.

 

Obviously can't go into specifics, but what I can say is that there have been improvements on all fronts. Not perfect of course, plenty of improvements to be made... But it feels night and day compared to 1.5, doubly so for the older versions of AMS 2!

 

It's always easy to criticise, call it a meme etc, when standing away and not knowing ins and outs of what is actually happening.

If it was easy then we'd have gazzilion of well made simracing perfection titles and dev studios raking money left, right and centre.

Anyway...

 

While I wait for 1.6, I am playing 1.5! And indeed, I just had one of the best races in my 250 hours+ of AMS2: multiclass DPI + GT4 in Velocitta. I was surprised when I few days ago I posted about the DPI and so many people hadn't tried the car before. Well, give also this combination a try. Velocitta is such a wonderful circuit, with so many elevation changes, one of those gems that we often don't find in racing games. It is short, which assures a bunch of multiclass overtake when you pair it with GT4. A sort of Road Atlanta experience. Give a try, you won't regret. As a tip, set the AI a bit higher that you normally would, since I find the AI bit slow in the last corner and the player can get some advantage there + the bunch of multiclass overtake that will occur, where the player can easily outsmart the AI.

Agreed. Nice combo, it sounds like fun. Yesterday I drove the Shifter Kart in Test Day at Interlagos Kart One, it was a lot of fun just lapping the track and learning how to drive it. It's underrated I think how well Reiza have differentiated how cars feel. Not sure but if the Karts have had the 1.6 update I'll be driving them more!

What a coincidence, I tried that track yesterday for the first time and really enjoyed it! And the view from the top of the track is beautiful. I will be back!

 

yeah it really doesnt mean anything. i used to get hyped for these but there can 20 more of those before release

 

I haven't a clue what it means (other than another build is deployed, which can happen multiple times a day or whenever, and is not specific to which build or who has access). Can you explain, @Mirko Pricoco, what exactly this tell us?

 

I am not expert on it but it means that they are working on the game and do some changes. Now, these changes are quiet frequent form a couple of days so i presume something big is moving.

 

It means they are testing things on the release branch of the game. Usually that indicates an update is somewhat close, though it is a rather imprecise metric, especially for such a huge update ^^ It is a tad more exact than Renato saying the word "soon", "in a couple of days" or "this summer" though

(not as exact as Renato saying "incoming" however)
